Actually....the full paint will help with the fading of the raw fiberglass but the reason it was being pushed was for the resale purposes. When you trade in a trailer you don't get anything for options and up to this point full paint was an option. By making full paint standard, the trade in value just went up for everybody. Redwood did everybody a favor with this decision.

After seeing the way fiberglass clear coat and the way it ages, I agree I am glad they are no longer making full body paint optional.

Just wonder if there will be issues with the Sequoia & Cypress models? Have they fixed the problem with the gel-coat or are these rigs going to continue to have these issues???

There are a bunch of RVs being made with tinted fiberglass so I guess we have to assume that they have figured it out.

It is awful among all brands, even those unsold that haven't even left the lot yet. You can almost tell which way the prior year rigs were parked on the lot - some are faded in the front, some in the back.

I can't believe this comes as a surprise to these manufacturers, the 80s was a rave of tan corrigated fiberglass as an alternative to white - Southwind, Itasca, everybody started using it, and within 2 years those things looked like a hunk of chalk and there wasn't a thing you could do about it other than reside them or paint.
