We had a 40 mph wind and rain event this week and I found a good bit of water coming through the rear side window facing the wind. Both wind and water could be felt several inches away from the panel that pops out. The rest of the window was fine and the bedroom escape window on the same side did not leak.
Can the escape window be taken out and re installed assuming i don't drop it during removal? I'd hate to take it out only to find the entire window needs to be replaced.
Has anyone resealed theirs and what did you use?

I've taken a couple out to reseal, they used foam gasket that had gotten curled during installation, removed window, cleaned both surfaces very good, used butyl tape as sealer & reinstalled windows, so far 2 years later & no leaks.

YES! It requires 2 people, 1 inside, 1 outside with a ladder.. On mine the factory used a foam gasket that was curled up during installation, I removed the window & used butyl tape as sealer (I don't like or use silicone unless absolutely necessary), 2 years later & no leaks.

There's a screw in the end of the top track that needs to be removed. Then at a certain angle the glass will slide out. I don't think the weather stripping is changeable. You could probably add a thin foam weather strip that comes with adhesive already on it to the glass to double up what already exists.
