I have read reference to a “Dad’s tool box”, I have an idea
what it is in reference to, LOL, but I am curious what it looks like. I have
not found any pictures of it. (Unless it is just an ordinary tool box…..)
Looking for anything to peek hubby’s interest don’t you know!

This is a small cubby cabinet accessible from the outside on the coach above and left of the main storage door. This area is not accessible when the main person door is pinned open but it has a light and a GFI outlet. I keep my "need um now" tools like small wrenches, screwdrivers, multitester, etc. there so I don't have to go thru the main totes in the basement where I keep my other stuff.

Thanks, besides the greatest thing since sliced toast, six
auto levying jacks system, I’m sure my Old Gray Stud will appreciate it! I need
all the talking points I can get.

X2
I was just about to post a fun question as to what folks use this for, but the OP beat me to it. I have a 3 drawer Craftsman toolbox in there, a charger and wireless drill and wireless impact gun, and a couple of other tool sets in there. I was just outside working on the rig in the dark, and that was a great place for tools.

I'm in love with the jacks. I moved 3 times to different camp sites a couple of weeks and never griped. They pop, but so do my knees in the morning so I can tolerate it for now.Edited by: atom ant

X3. It's a handy place for those most used tools where one doesn't have to search for them on the basement.

I put a tv, blue ray player and radio in mine. When we are outside, the door is closed and I can access the box. Great little place for a small TV and have drinks outside after a long day and watch the depressing news. I am working on a stand off that will allow me to hold the door open at a 90 degree angle and keep the tool box door open.

Dads Tool Box is now Dads Outdoor Entertainment Center on our 36RL. Like Toby, we installed a flat screen in the cubby with a long arm locking mount that allows me to pull the set outside. Once it clears the cubby door it can panned and tilted to where you are sitting. When I ordered the unit I requested an antenna and satellite drop be installed. The mount locks in place when the TV is pushed back in so it doesn't move during transit. GO SPURS GO!

I'm similiar to Atom. Only difference is that the toolbox that normally lives in the bed of the truck underneath the BakFlip cover gets moved and put into that compartment as part of our hitching routine. There are other tools that live there all the time.

Grandpa,

I also put a TV in the compartment; however just secured on base with screws as I couldn't find a mount like you mention. Could you tell me the make and model number?

Thanks,

Jim & Judi

Here is a link to the mount: http://www.americanrvcompany.com/MAX...per-Trailer-RV

This mount is a bit heavy so Iadded a piece of plywood to the back wall of the Tool Box to give it more wood to bite. The arm on this mount is 18" which allows the TV to clear the opening. It also locks in place when retracted.
