Cool - just got a one year subscription to Coach-Net from Crossroads. Anybody use them beyond the promo? Any luck with them good or bad?

We've always had Allstate Motor Club, but I have no real preference.

We were setting up, jacks down, check...power hooked up, check...bedroom slide...check. Main slide...nothing. This was yesterday (Sunday), did all the checks that I knew (limited). Still nothing. Called the rescue (Coach-net?). Was told we weren't eligible as we were a Thor product. After dancing around and asking to talk with management, they said they would make an exception. After Registration", found out they were no techs available. They did call back about 20 min later. The tech did not know anything about RW, just general. He did try to tell me about the in-line breakers that were in the battery comp. To no avail...spent the night without slides.
This AM called RW and talked with techs. In about 1/2 hour we had bypassed the culprit (bad relay). RW tech was GREAT (even though I had blown MY breaker at this point).

Kudos the the RW techs.

What you just went through is why I am sooooo glad that I never had to use Coach-Net in our first year. My wife and I both thought that it wasn't worth the paper that it was written. Although, the plastic Coach-Net card looked cool.</span>

We laughed at them after they wanted us to sign up for several years.

Thank you for confirming our thoughts.

Insurance with Good Sams for truck and RV, plus extended maintenance, they even pay for a week of hotel if we are 100 or more miles away from home waiting on repairs.

Well, I guess I'll keep my Allstate. Doesn't sound like Coach-Net is a good alternative.

Maybe this is why our dealership did not even mention it during the sale and at the walk thru?! (of course, they were still promoting the extended service warranty contract the whole time!)

I have the little tag that was somewhere in the coach. Maybe I will still join, just in case.

Does anyone have AAA? Do they offer anything for RV's? I've been a member for over 30 years with them.

S&K, I have travel insurance for my 5er and tow vehicle combined through Good Sams. I do have to be farther than 100 miles from home to use it if my tow vehicle or 5er should break down. Good Sams will tow my 5er to the nearest campground. They will tow my tow vehicle to the nearest repair garage or Dealership.

I purchased this for when we're traveling. Friend of mine got into a bind when his GM 4500 toter broke something in the engine. It's one thing to tow your tow vehicle to a garage. What do you do with your 5er? He didn't fair so well in the financials .

I have no idea whether this insurance is good or bad...........won't know until I need it.

I have had and used both. Had Good Sam's first . Switched to Coach Net because of introductory price. Were in Branson Missouri and the spots weren't the best. Rained pretty heave and got our FL60 Freightliner stuck. Called Coach Net and told them what the problem was. They sent out 2 wreckers just in case and said I was covered up to an hour. They got me on solid ground in no time at all, but it all was covered. Switch back to Good Sam again because of price. Have used them several times for tires etc., and 1 for being stuck again and towed once from Quartzite Az to Blyth Ca. When the truck was having problems. So far haven't had any problems with either so it basically boils down to price.

I am confused. Is CoachNet not available because the unit is produced by a company Thor owns?

Have tried to get the fine print from CN, not on their homepage.

Just like with any "customer support line" sometimes it's best to say thank you, hang up, and call right back to get a different person - then the 'laws' may change

Last year at the rally, coach net put on a little session, and I think outs came with a free year of Coachnet.

Roger,
That is true. Redwood has been supplying a year's membership with Coach-Net. Our 2012 36RL came with the membership. Interestingly, the dealer never informed me of that fact. And, I even asked the salesman about that type of service.

Brad, it's about the same. I called Coch Net shortly after we got our RW when I had an issue with the jacks. Guess I got lucky, because the tech that called me back in about five minutes after I called was very familiar with them and led me through some trouble shooting. Turned out we had a bad relay and he even led me through making a jumper wire to get the jacks working.

Was very happy with them. Extended with them after the first year ran out.

We were members of BCAA for over 30 yrs, but cancelled it in favour of Good Sam when we got the Redwood. BCAA could not match the service provided by Good Sam.

There was a time I couldn't stand Good Sam because of all the junk mail. When I called to get a service contract offer, I found out the corporate center is about 10 blocks from my house so I feel a little more allegiance now.

I have debated what road assistance company to choose. Hopefully taking delivery of our 38RL in a week or two.

Compared them and have so far come to the conclusion that AAA Premier RV is the best. Maybe with an extra one like Coach Net as back-up.

Understand that AAA is not one but 50 (or 48) different departments/associations but after talking with both the local department and the nationwide customer service today, I understood that when you get the Premier (platinum) card the rules are no longer local as it is when you have the Gold Card, but wherever you are in the US and need a towing or other assistance they will help.

Also, what I was told was that for the first towing truck there is no limit, they will finish their work with no extra cost even if it take four hours but if two tow trucks are needed only one hour on the second one is included.

I also understood that 200 miles are included regardless of where a dealer is. I can choose where I want to get towed too. I have NOT compared Good Sam though - just Coach Net and AAA.

I had AAA premier RV for years, and they did good. Had to use them a couple of times. We dropped them for Allstate however when my truck quit towing the boat, and AAA Premier would not touch the boat - no way, no how. Only campers.
