All RW owners with G rated tires and wheels.....The G's are stronger than the E rated wheels 3750 lbs as compared to 3580 but they also have the metal valve stems to compensate for the higher pressure also...110 Cold cold cold psi should be adhered to...110 before moving trailer...Yes the pressure will go higher and the tire manufacture and wheel manufaturer know this.....Any questions you can call Treadit.
Dave, you didm't waste your money!

I agree, Dave you didn't waste your money. Right now there are two or three folks over on the Montana forum crying the Blues because they've had Marathon blow-outs or tread separations, and Montana are heavy but not quite as heavy as Redwoods of the same approx size. I personally would not have pulled our Redwood off the lot if the "G" tires were missed on our order.

Tire manufactures all have inflation charts that consumers can use to determine how much air pressure they need for their particular situation. Yes, a "G" rated tire has a max inflation rate of 110 psi but that doesn't mean inflating to that pressure is best for all situation. With my current set up, I have 3100 pounds on each of the four tires for a total of 12,400. I need max pressure in my "E" rated Marathons but wouldn't need 110 psi in a "G" rated tire to carry that weight. Therefore my current wheels will handle the "G" rated tires.
I want to get "G" rated tires when I replace the Marathons, which have held up fine for 10,000 miles, because we plan to head into Alaska where the roads are less than ideal.

As always... just my 2c

Steve it has been my experience that putting G rated tires on E rated rims can cause the bead lock to break free from the rest of the rim. In my shop we have seen this many times this year. I do not know what circumstances were involved in each case but I have seen it happen and it is not pretty.

Another note Steve, a reputable tire shop won't mount the G tires on your E rims for your safety and there liability.

thanks for the info on the tires. I'll check. BTW how do you like the 36 FL? any issues?, leaks?

I found the stripping just above the tires on the door side pulling apart. So I went to the Dealer to check another 36FL and EVERY ONEof the FL has the same issue on the Door side. "Did not get a offer to fix or note even though I purchased the 5 year plan.

Understand that, next question, what is Redwood doing about it?, if anything?. Are they waiting for an accident?, just curious.

John8545,

Redwood didn't make the wheels, they buy them from a company that produced 1 defective wheel.

Redwood bends over backward to assist owners in this type of situation. Geez...

I emailed Brian Emmons about the wheel and he replied with the contact information for Tredit Wheel. I called them and talked to Cindy Huxhold in the warranty department and she emailed me all the forms and instructions needed to process the warranty claim within an hour of speaking to her.
I filled out the forms and sent them along with pics of the wheel info back the next morning.
My new wheel was shipped that afternoon...
I discovered the cracked wheel on the 19th and the new wheel was shipped on the 23rd. I call that pretty good customer service by both parties.
Tredit is also reimbursing me for the cost of mounting and installing the new wheel.

Glad to hear they treated you right on this. Again Redwood is standing behind their product

I agree, RW is outstanding in customer service. The problem I have is getting a service center to do warranty work and do it right the first time. Eight trips and 1 1/2 weeks vacation time to a service dept and still waiting to get most of the repair items fixed for the 1st time.
