Carefree Awning Won't Extend

Our coach has two awnings, the main one over the entrance door (36RL) and one installed on the curb side main slide. After we got back from our August California trip, the slide awning will not extend. (Main awning works OK) there is 12V present at the mini plug that the awning plugs into when the switch is activated, but no movement. The manual says to remove the motor head cover to gain access to the test terminals, but I don't see how to do that if the motor head is against the slide in the fully retracted position. Anyone have any ideas?

Jim

Jim can you pull on it by hand and pull it out far enough to lodge a short piece of 2×4 between it and the wall of the coach and then take the head off it. Also there are 2 spade connectors at the head before the wiring goes into it I would check them as well

Tried that. Pulled rather hard on the motor head, and it didn't budge a bit. I was afraid any harder and I might really break it.
