Hi, All,
It's time for my Annual Warranty Inspection.

Alas, I am truckless, so Ihave to pay someone hundreds of dollars to tow my trailer to a dealership for inspection. (..at a time when my cash flow is not so good.)

QUESTION: Who or what is authorized to perform an official, Annual Redwood Warranty Inspection?

1. Only Redwood Dealers?

2. Any RV Dealership?

3.An RV Repair guy, if he is "authorized" to do the inspection.

On searching, I found the relevant post below...

Thank you for your help!

Robt.

Very interesting posts. On May 15 2013 I called Redwood and spoke with one Leonard Neilson. He stated to me that ANY certified RV dealer could do the yearly inspection. It did not have to be a Redwood dealer. I double checked after riffraf posted that he had gotten the same information. Mr Neilson stated just to have the inspection and get them a copy. So what is the truth on what to do? Who really knows at this point. I have done as Mr Neilson stated. No problems yet. Perhaps it just depends who you talk to.

We did the same. No truck yet. I got approval from both the dealer and Redwood and my RV tech sent them a copy of his findings. He was responsible for finding the small hole in the roof.

Hi, Jay and Linda,

So...do you mean you were able to have an independent RV repair person come to your trailer and do the inspection....by getting approval from Redwood for him/her to do it?

If so, did you get some type of inspection checklist from Redwood?

Thank you in advance,

Robt.

Page 3 of the owners manual has specifics regarding the annual inspection. It also has a checklist

Thanks, ColJDM,

Yes..the third sheet in the Owners Manual is titled "Inspection and Service Certification"....explaining the inspections "must be performed annually by a qualified CrossRoads RV dealership." Plus, the sheet includes spaces for five years of Dealer signoffs for that inspection.

So, if the inspection can ONLY be performed at a dealership, then here comes 500 dollars in round trip towing charges.

yay.

I would contact Crossroads, speak to Leonard Nielsen (customer service rep) get an exception to that policy and have a qualified mobile RV tech perform the inspection on site for you. I believe it has been done before, and it will save you the transportation cost. Leonard is very supportive and reasonable.

Mr. Toad call Leonard. He has authorized an on site repair for my bedroom slide that wont move. Also I asked about the inspection and he told me Camping is an authorized repair service for Redwood so it could be done there. If I was close to Salt Lake I would tow it for you free just to help out. Anyone close to there?

As would I as well... but even with me semi-flying from DFW to Salt Lake I would not be there in time ...

good luck !
