Newbie taking delivery today

We are taking delivery of a 2014 38GK this morning at Lazy Days RV in Tucson. Camping next to an RV dealer can be very expensive!

We traded in our Montana that we have had for just shy of 5 years. Having had no real issues with it we had a hard time pulling the trigger but the overall floor plan and features of the Redwood were compelling.

I have read several posts about warranty service which brings up another concern that was partially addressed by Redwood. We have no dealers in our area (Northern California) but they assured us that they will do their best to get us to a Thor dealer.

We have both been checking the owners forum and been impressed. Having been active in the Montana owners forum, we understand the great value the forums are to the overall enjoyment, care, understanding and use of our new rig. It sure looks like you folks have a good thing going!

We have the weekend to start making the move. The dealer has a nice transition area to park the rigs side to side for the move. Monday, the rig is getting the mods done and then our PDI. Hope to be back on the road Wednesday.

Looking forward to meeting you down the road!

Ken & Marilyn

Ken & Marilyn, Welcome to the growing Redwood Family.
Thought that Handle looked familiar, must have seen it before on the MOC. Seems there are quite a few of us former Montana owners now in Redwoods.
The GK wasn't avail when we ordered ours, but we love the setup in our RL, enjoy your new home on wheels.

Ken & Marilyn,

Welcome to the Redwood family!! The 38GK is a beautiful floor plan, we seriously considered it but at the time we ordered our 36FB the GK had the slide-in-slide and could not accommodate a king bed. Now, as I understand you can choose whether you want the S-I-S or not, we saw a GK at the Tampa show without the S-I-S and a king bed. The GK and FB are very similar, the GK has the extra sink in the water closet which is very nice. Very nice coach!!

You can service your Redwood at any Crossroads service facility so look to see if there are any in Northern CA.

Good luck with your PDI...and the move!!

Thanks for the welcome, Michelle & Ann. I tried PM you on the MOC before we joined here as we saw that you made the move to the Redwood. Glad to see your active here too as we have always found your posts informative!

We did the same thing last January. Great sales staff.
Be sure to hold their feet to the fire on the service. We were there for 3 days to get 4 hours worth of work done.

Ask for "Don" to service your rig. He was phenomenal!

Congrats!

Welcome and the best on your PDI! The 38GK is a great rig!

I estimate probably half the folks here came from the Montana, at least those that are active on the forums.

Oh man - STOP it !!!

Too many gk's will be on the road soon

******************************
Just kidding and welcome to the club !!!

Congrats and best advice I can give you is video EVERYTHING during pdi and document everything you can... even for those of us that have had 4 or 5 rv's you understand and acknowledge everything during pdi, then later on it's like "Huh ?!?"

I KNOW it has nothing to do with age

We just did the walk-through yesterday of our 36RE and we are so excited! By the way, Ken and Marilyn, we live in Northern California and bought ours at Toscano RV here and they are authorized RW dealers. Great folks. Its a good week to get into a RW. Woo hoo!

Thanks all for the welcome and kind words. We are heading just west of Phoenix in El Mirage for several weeks. Should be a good shake down and test.

We are familiar with Toscano RV, Marilyn's cousin started the dealership years ago but no longer involved. Their about 3-4 hours from us a possibility for service, but still a good distance.

We arrive at Mesa Spirit on Feb 8th and they will have at least 3 RW's. If you are in the Mesa area stop in and say hi.

Congratulations! We had our 36RE delivered at Lazy Days Tucson on Nov 25, 13. We love it! They were great to us and took care of any problems with a "can do" attitude and anything else we can do just let us know! Do they still give the "Crown Club? That was a great perk from them. We're in San Antonio for another two weeks and then on towards Florida. Where you heading next?

Congratulations! We picked up our 2014 36RL today as well! We ordered it at the Hershey RV Show in September and we finally have it. We sold our old 5th wheel in September and have had boxes of stuff in our garage and house ever since. We will start the transition tomorrow, so I envy you having the opportunity to transload right at the dealer. Perhaps we will see you at the rally in Indiana in August. Enjoy your new coach! Welcome! We are Montana residents new to the forum and just bought a 36 RL RW. Both retiring this June. Excited to get out of here in the wintertime and go around the US visiting our 3 daughters and 9 grandkids while doing a little fun exploring! Best Wishes on your future! Grannadi

Ken & Marilyn,

Welcome and congratulations on the 38GK. We have one on order. The Redwood Family is growing real fast. And it does seem the GK is becoming very popular. It IS the best Redwood floor plan.....just kidding!
