First look at our 38FL

So we made the trek up to the factory in northern Indiana to see our coach being built. Yup, what a better way to kick off a road trip life style other than making a 1,010/3 day road trip from Nashville, TN to Syracuse, IN to see our new home being built.

What can I say other than the Redwood people were great! Jim Lazzarino, the product manager for Redwood & CrossRoads, located our coach on the production line and gave us a personal tour of the entire facility. Great experience and something I'll certainly remember. Since we ordered our unit with no carpet they even had a nickname for us "The all vinyl people" .

So anyway, here's some pictures......

Should be completed this week. Couple of notes:

- We order our unit about 7 weeks ago
- They produce 6 units / day
- There are about 100 people at the factory working to build all the coaches

Looking forward to getting the truck and starting the adventure.

Hey thanks for sharing the pictures of your new home. As we will be neighbors at the Rally in August, we are looking forward to seeing the unit completed.

By chance when you were at the factory did you see what was behind the TV in the Bedroom? I took a peek back there and was surprised there appeared to be only wires back there. The reason for my question is that the wife and I have been looking for a place to a small safe in the 38FL, and that looks like prime location for one. All the other RWs have a safe in the bedroom. So our initial plan is to mount a small safe behind the TV with access from the wardrobe on one side or the other. Any thoughts?????

JellyStonePark -

Sorry I did not get a look behind the TV, but since there are only cables at the bottom of the slide I have to believe that space is pretty empty.

Great pics, thanks!

Are there just Redwoods being built there? Or other Crossroads rigs?

There were both Redwoods and Crossroads. They build each type together, so they had like 3 or 4 Redwoods in a row, followed by 3 or 4 Crossroads moving down the line in groups.

Btw, here's what it looks like down the line. As one coach gets finished and taken off the end, all the others get slid down to the next station and a new one is started at the beginning. You could say we've already taken a ride in ours because we were inside the coach when it got slide down to the next build station.

Also great view outside a bunch of coaches waiting outside for spring .
