Not sure what brand mine will come with but the dealer said he will make sure I have two. I also said I have a brand new deep cycle and he will put in two more battery boxes and I will pick up another one to give me four, this way i will have more than enough power for those couple of days in between camp sites

Dan, you need to make sure all four of those batts are the exact same size, rating and age or they will charge and discharge at different rates. this will destroy them.

Just picked up my RL yesterday. Mine came with a no-name from Redwood, but I had the dealer put in a matched pair of Interstate 12V deep cycles - just for standard coach or solar recharge use. You need (4) 6V deep cycle (Trojan are best) for solar array/inverter use.

I think mine (2) are Interstate deep cycle but I'd have to take a look to be certain.

I'd be checking with your dealer and finding out why you only received 1 battery ;why would they give two batter boxes but only 1 battery...I received my information from Reigional Sales Manager Doug Richards

I'd be watching these posts and make copies to show your dealer for a refund and maybe they can get their money back too

I need to be a little more specific. It came with two - one from factory and one from dealer. I did not ask for or pay extra for the 2nd battery.

Per email from Andy during my build, Redwoods only come with one battery. Forum members have been blogging about this"one battery" situation for months - and it was initially blamed on the "landing gear fuse blowing" scenario.
Hearing this, I asked to have a second battery added as an option on the line so they would match. Andyreplyed that adding a second wasn't available from the factory and had to have the dealer add it (this should standard equipment or at leastan available option). If yours came with two, the dealer threw it in as part of the transaction. I wanted my batteries to be an exact match.

I would check to see if the dealer would swap out the factory one for the match of the one they put in.

I will settle for just the one 12 volt batt as I plan on installing 6 volt Trojan's with a solar system.

I am not up to date on the solar systems. Is that something primarily if you do dry camping or is it for all round type camping?

If you do a lot of dry camping. you might look into a solar system and inverter,so you don't have to run you gen all the time. but even if you don't. you might want to install a smaller system to keep your battsfully charged, when not using you unit.

It is a large investment for your average camper I would think.

Yes, it can get exspensive. depends on what your needs maybe. I plan on a 420 watt system with inverter. approx. $2,600 with out laboror the6 volt batts.
