upgrade of pre-owned Redwood FW

Hey guys
I want to sell my Dutchmen trailer and buy the Redwood fifth wheel. One guy not far from me sells his pre-owned trailer. If I decide to buy it I will need to replace the battery, change all current light to Led and maybe some basic plumbing. I want to estimate the expenses now. How much should I budget for the light change?
thanks

If you tell us the model, maybe someone who has that particular RW could tell you how many fixtures are present. Then you could simply do the math.

I'll sell you mine - no plumbing work to do and batteries are good

it looks good!

the guy offers me Redwood 34SK
I will need the indoor and outdoor lighting. Maybe for the kitchen this will be good https://www.rabweb.com/productLine.p...AD_RECESSED_3X
Can this outdoor light https://www.mrosupply.com/lighting/l..._rab-lighting/ be fixed on the trailer?

Looks a little "industrial" to me, but just my opinion. You can get LED bulbs to replace the 12V halogen in your current light fixtures, including over the island.

We converted all interior lites in our 2012 36RL over to LEDs and I think it ran me approx $300.00 and some change. This was ordering thru a member on the Montana Forum.

Just curious, does this RW not have any light fixtures? The links you posted are new fixtures, so do you need bulbs or fixtures?

My 2015 GK came with LED fixtures in the ceiling but incandescent every where else. All the incandescent are now LED's. I see the benefit of less drain on the batteries and less heat. There are a lot of lights.

Guess I'm old fashioned, put personally I prefer the warm light given off by the old incadesent light bulbs. The bright white light given off by led's are too harsh in my opinion.

I replaced all of the closet lights with LED, but didn't like the light and went back to Halogen and gave the bulbs to my daughter. I know there are different light temperatures on the LED, and I would like the low battery draw, but I just can't seem to give up that warm light I have now. Maybe I'll do part of them someday.

I bought 4 led bulbs from Camping World (damned pricey) 2 1/2 years ago & put 2 in the wall lights behind the couch & 2 over the head of the bed, so far the 2 behind the didn't last as long as the original bulbs & only have 1 in bedroom still working with about 1/2 of the leds out, so in my opinion & not worried about heat or batteries I'll spend the money on something else. We also didn't like the soft light from the leds except over the bed.

well after buying 40 led lights and only using 16 of them because the DW did not like the soft light so now I have 24 extra led lights and 16 halogen light bulbs. I guess I will never need to by lights anymore!! lol

I ordered a "sample" order to see if these were right for me and liked them very much.
the 20w halogen were replaces with these at 14.95 for 6 lights using 3w: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and the 10w were replaced with 1.5w : LE® 1.5W G4 LED Bulbs, 20W Halogen Bulbs Equivalent, 12V AC, 160lm, 120° Beam Angle, Warm White, 3000K, G4 Bulb, Bi-Pin Light Bulbs, LED Light Bulbs, Pack of 6 Units - - Amazon.com

They are 3000k and are the warm white but brighter being 40w and 20w equivelent. With the 1156 base type X4 and 10 tab base for the closet and basement, I spent about $150.

I just traded my 2011 Carri-Lite for my current RW. There are a lot of similar light fixtures in the RW that I had in my CL. One thing I liked in my CL was the dimmer for the living area. The lights in the RW are the same as I had in the CL but I wanted to add this dimmer and not sure where to look for the part. I am going to start my search but if anyone has completed this, let me know where you purchased the parts

We just bought warm white LEDs to replace the incandescents from Amazon and can hardly see a difference.

In ways, life was much simpler back when. In my childhood we had 60, 75, and 100 watt bulbs and they all had a screw base that were all the same. We all went to the same doctor too, mom, dad and all us kids. When Dad passed not long ago, he had 6 specialists. And, I’m grateful for all of them and the knowledge and care they provided. It was not however simple.

Modern lighting has, like everything else, has provided many options that were previously not available. Base design has allowed for in-ceiling lighting w/o the can that would otherwise be blocking the insulation. Choice of brightness, color spectrum enhancement and temperature are all meaningful depending upon the application.

"Warm" colors have lower color temperatures (2700–3500 K). Warm/Soft LEDs create an inviting, comfortable, and relaxing atmosphere, and highlight golden and red tones to add a peaceful aura to any space.

"Cool" colors have higher Kelvin temperatures (3600–5500 K). Cool/Daylight LEDs create a bright, clean, and lively mood, and inspire active areas in your home with intensely vibrant streams of light.

If it’s helpful, I have found Daylight is preferred for kitchens, utilities and closets. I can tell the difference between navy and black socks in that light. 2700k is preferred for bedrooms; it’s warm and good for reading. In the living areas I prefer 3000k because it seems brighter, not as yellow but doesn’t have the cool blue my architect friend loves all over his house.

For the RV what I like most is the more efficient lighting. With the halogen lighting, one switch to the living room and 6 20 watt bulbs would activate the converter fan would immediately start, and now with 40 watt equivalents LEDs that only use 3 watts, its brighter and I can also turn on half the lights in the rig before the converter breaks a sweat. Each area is set-up for how we use it. My wife likes it too. We look forward to the next opportunity to go dry camping and relax about our battery use.

BTW, I'm grateful for a spouse who is tolerant of her anal husband.

I have no idea if these work with your LEDs, but they work great with the Halogens I have, and probably what your CL had.
