Technorv wifi booster

Has anyone here bought one of Technorv's wifi booster kits with the external antenna. I can't get to the page to be able to marry it to my lap top. I've left messages and emails since Friday with no answer. I guess they are busy at the Hershey show.Supposedly they were to send a link on how to manage this but i did not get one. Can anyone send me the link or give me some info where ti find the link. Thanks

Ted,
Great people to deal with as we purchased at the Rally. My wife had issues setting it up so they came right over to our RW and set it all up.
She has all the details on the system and contact info so I will have to get that to you tomorrow. Strange they are not in contact even if they are at the show?
External works great and in another thread you can see how we mounted it. I wanted to mount to the TV antenna but would be crazy work hardwiring it so I went the other route.

I have mine in the box still... set it up one day , and between my 2 daughters we could not get it figured out.. It is sitting there till I get the time to mess with it again...
Eric did send me 2 emails that help in setting the repeaters up , but I could not access them at the time.... I will try to do it in the coming weeks.

I bought the antenna and the small booster. I had issues the first time hooking up. I found powering down the booster and my laptop and restarting everything with the booster connected to my laptop via the LAN cord worked best. We only found one site over the past 6 weeks where I could not connect... it was 1000 Islands KOA. They had repeaters on every row so there was no issue getting connected... I just was not protected by my own router password so only used my tablet while we were there.

For those of you who have experience with the antenna & booster, have you been able to successfully stream movies? Or is just good enough to surf & email?

We haven't found much of any Campground WiFi that's fast enough for streaming much, booster or not.

I was able to download movies overnight to my tablet and then sneakernet them to a USB thumb drive onto my TV. The signal was never strong enough to stream thru my tablet and Chromecast to the TV.

I suppose this is very doable....unless a lot of campers are trying to download the same times.

Thanks Steve for your help...It is now working.. What happened after working with the instructions you sent me was we discovered that the IP address on my "house router " was the same as the Technorv router 192.168.2.1. So every time I tried to test the system at home the matching IP addresses would cause it to conflict and not connect. What we had to do was change the IP address on the wifi extender router to 192.168.3.1. With that change there is now no conflict and all seems good. So we are going to test it this weekend at the camp ground.
Also I'm assuming if we ever go to a CG and cannot log into their system that maybe the problem and need IP address changing.

Up date info on the TechnoRV wifi booster.
Got to the CG and tried to get the system to work... At first it would not allow me to log into the wifi even though the unit said it was connected to the CG's system.
So I changed it back to the original IP address 192.168.2.1 from the changed one that I described previously. AND IT WORKED!!!!!!
I'm guessing the CG's system is using the "3" so I had a conflict again.

Also I have a "magic jack" and plugged it into the jack beside the D/C input plug. Let it sit there for 2-3 minutes and it also works.

Got to give Eric credit for his patience and knowledge.

Campground wifi

I have the alpha wifi anntenna and network and it works fine but we are at a campground with 6 different anntenas we can log onto However whether logged on through my network or directly to campground network my system is searching every couple of minutes I am wondering if campgrounds that offer dsl for purchase make their wifi intermittant so you get frustrated and pay a monthly fee Anyone have insite on this? Thanks

I can tell you after putting two campground wifi networks together, that most campground owners aren't going to spend the money first off and second they know little to nothing about it. I just finished putting together a pretty good setup from a coverage point of view with 12 Hawking Technology repeaters. The coverage pretty much takes care of the whole campground. At issue is the microwave technology used to provide internet connection. This setup beams a signal from almost 5 miles away to an antenna at the campground. It is a 10mb connection, shared with over a 100 sites. I have it set to a 1mb reservation. This is better than the last campground, but you get what you pay for. The through put is 82%. Not much streaming or anything.

As said probably a bit high tech for campground to do that, but Marriott was prosecuted for doing similar 3 years ago - jamming wifi to force you to use their pay system.
