Pin Weight for 2020 RW4001LK

Hey folks,

I've seen some conflicting numbers for the pin weight on the new 4001LK. For those who have one or are taking possession soon, can you share that info?

Thanks so much,

As a general rule, the pin weight of a loaded fiver will be between 20 to 25% of the loaded weight. Advertised pin weight is for a new, dry fifth wheel, and as we all know, it's not handy to camp in an empty camper.

Pay no attention to any "dry" weights posted for any RV, those were from the day it rolled out the factory door, no batteries, no or empty propane bottles & will NEVER weigh anywhere near that again, but as Goat stated use 20-25% of the GVWR on the manufacturer label. If like most other RWs it's pin weight is on the heavy side.
If by chance you're trying to figure if your 3/4 ton truck, regardless of what you've read or your dealer told you, can handle a RW the answer is NO!

The current spec on the RW site is 15088 Dry and 3152 Dry Pin.
So even loaded lightly the pin will easily be pushing 4K.
And as an example, our '16 39MB left the Factory almost 2K more than the published Dry weight. So I would guess that the 4001LKs will be easily in Dually territory with that pin weight.

My new 4001LK STICKER reads dry weight @ 14,900 and I believe the pin was right @ 3,000(2,980).
