Think the simple question for me would be: Would I buy a 2013 RAM 3500 Dually with a 2015 Redwood 38RL again. Answer: YES.

Problems yes, solved yes - overall VERY happy 14 month fulltimers now.

Redwood is like some drugs (!) not sure why I like it but every time I open the door and enter it feels good!

Find a great dealer - more important than a low price. We ended up in Sioux Falls far away from where we started and our dealer is just fantastic!

As I mentioned, we have purchased our truck and we have now selected the 36RL. We are both very excited. We are trading in a CC Silverback, 2 years old. Cedar Creek has always been good to us, but they do not have anything close to the Redwood. It's all the extra touches that Redwood provides. Our Silverback is 35ft and the Redwood is 39, hoping the increase in length won't add driving difficulties to our trips. This decision has taken almost 6 months to make...but we are both looking forward to the delivery date (sounds like 12-13 weeks out).
Thanks again.

You won't notice the difference in length.

Only difference my husband says is it takes wider turns, otherwise he doesn't even notice it's there we love it..

I understand that price has everything to do with a purchase but from my past choices. Cheapest is not always the best way. You will be paying more for it in the long run if everything falls apart in it and you have to live at the dealership constantly getting it bandaided up. But great choice on the truck and good luck on your decision

Ya, my buddy didn't notice the difference either, until he got home!

Seems that new longer rig didn't quite fit through the gate the same as the old one

But overall, you get used to it in a hurry.

My previous rv was a CC & compared to the RW it towed like I was dragging an anchor, felt a lot heavier, but was actually much lighter, & I don't notice the length.

I went from pulling a 20 ft Coleman pop-up with a Dodge Dakota to pulling a 40 ft, Redwood 36RL, 5th wheel with a RAM 3500 CC long bed. There definitely was a learning curve but haven't had any problems except for a couple of fueling stations that were a little tight!! Always make sure you have enough room to make wide turns.

Question...the option sheet offers 8000 lb. Axles for $3085 and Disc Brakes @ $3092
What are your thoughts...
Are we being overly cautious??
Thank you.

We have 8k axes and disc breaks on our 2016 gk. The breaks make a huge difference and the axles are for the comfort in ours. Taking final delivery Friday. So far everything looks great with minor ticket items to look over

The 8k axles are nice to have for the extra capacity. The disk brakes are a must have in my opinion. My RL had drums when delivered and we changed to Kodiak disk when we did the MorRyde IS.. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to drum "........

Ditto the Disc as they should be a Manditory Option. The 8K axles sort of depend on your use of the unit, are you just weekenders with little stuff onboard, 7K should be fine, or are you long or full timers with everything you own on board, then you want the 8K. We're 95% Full Timers and our previous 36RL was scaled at just over 17K, but we had upgraded to Mor/ryde 8K IS so we were good to go. OBTW a 36RL is actually 40' 4" tip to tail. Brochure length is from the King Pin, not the very front of the front cap.

I always assumed the brochure length was the interior length, I could never figure out where they got that figure

One last question...have any of you purchased the back-up camera, and if so does it work well, and provide you with a good view?

Thanks!!

it's official...we ordered our 36RL yesterday. Very excited. Looking forward to many journeys... We ordered it with the 8000 lb axels, and with the disk brakes. We also got the camera. There wasn't to much that we didn't check. I had an opportunity to talk with someone today at Redwood, and I believe they will stand behind their product.
Let the waiting begin!
