Well I have been asked by several people if I am happy with my dealer while purchasing my Redwood, it would seem to me that there are happy people and some very unhappy people, when talking to people who have purchased whether they are buying used or new. I my self have had a very good expirence while ordering our new home, I can tell you it pays to shop different dealers. I do not know how my dealers shop is and quite frankly I hope I never need to find out.

How was your purchase any problems, are you satisfied, how has the shop at your dealer handled your service issues, how would you rank your dealer over all?

So far I would rank my dealer a 10+ for over all accommodation of the order for my Redwood. They have defiantly earned there paycheck on this sale.

I'm not sure yet, we'll see when I get the trailer. My dealer promised I could get a gas generator and I quized him about it when we ordered the trailer. He said he was sure he was going to be able to do it and I chose him over another dealer because of his promise. Then he called and said he couldn't do a gas generator4weeksafter the trailer was ordered, Then there were some options I wasn't told about like the 2nd awning. This forum has been more informative than my dealer so far. I guess I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop sort of speak.

I feel your pain. We're also in a wait and see mode. I've done more work on our order with direct communications to Customer Service at the Plant than either our Salesman or the Regional Sales Manager. We went with this Dealership because their price was quite a bit less than several others. I'm hopeing everything will be okay because of my intervention. Think if we had left everything up to the Salesman we wouldn't have gotten our request relayed to the Plant. Only time will tell now.

Very helpful dealer in Lakewood Colorado. Corey at Windish RV is great. We are waiting for a call from him to let us come pick out which Redwood we are wanting. Can't decide on the 36RL or 38BR. Any ideas on these two from the forum that might help us make a decision once we see both models.

My wife was interested in the 38Br but it was too heavy for our truck to pull. Also my wife wanted to be able to stretch out on the sofa while reading and the "BR" sofa is shorter. I must say though that the extra room did catch our eye. We ended up with the RL because of the layout of the room.

They make different floor plans because of differing needs of folks. I'm sure they're all good no matter which one you buy.

I've always thought of a toy hauler but the wife doesn't see it YET, and we're a team.

A toy hauller would be the way to go for us but we have hard time with the garage not being used as living space and most hauler floor plans leave a lot to be desired for us they just seem cramped for space in the living area plus they seem to be targeted toward the younger crowd.

We live in Washington state (Vancouver) & there was no Redwood dealer in Washington or Oregon. So I researched and found out that Dennis Dillon RV in Boise, ID had them. We took a trip to Arizona a year ago via Boise and stopped in to see it and fell in love!! But at that time we were not able to get one, then we decided to purchase a Carriage Cameo instead because we had a local dealer.
Well, you know what happen to Carriage, so I called Dennis Dillon and they made us the same deal that we were going to get with the Cameo and had the floorplan we wanted in stock with full paint job! Needless to say, we got the financing started and they even held it for us until we had our vacation the week after Thanksgiving. We can't say enough about all the people at Dennis Dillon from our salesman, the sales manager, the service tech and even the receptionist. It was a great and fun experience, but a long day cause we had to move everything from one rv to the other. We never want to go through that again and hopefully our Redwood will last for many years to come!!
It was meant to be and we couldn't be happier!! It's so much more than the Cameo ever was.

We, too, were looking at Carriage in 2011 but it did not happen. Some frinds of ours bought a RW and we fell in line. We found our at the Austin, TX RV Show in February. We have been full-timing since Oct, 2005 and the switchover was not fun. But we are in our 36RE and enjoying it fully.

We had been looking at moving up to a quality built 5th wheel that we could live FT in when we retire in a couple of years from now, and had narrowed it down to the Cameo 36FWS. Well as things have it we went to the RV show in Pomona, CA last October and that was the weeked that the news about Carriage came out so we decided to wait and see what was going to happen to Carriage. On our way back home we decided to stop at the RV dealer in Los Banos, CA as they had both Carriage and Redwood. To make a long story short we ended up buying the Redwood 36RE and love it.

It sounds like you are moving right along on the new Redwood. When it comes in make sure to let us know and we might be able to come see the new unit and meet you.

Glad you hear your comments, after nearly 4 months, about your 36RL. We are sure looking forward to getting our 36RL out of winter storage in our pole barn. The weather here in Indiana has already produced the warmest March on record. We have had 8 straight record setting days for high temperatures. Who needs a spring break?

I hope we can do some weekends in the state parks during the up comingweeks in April and May.

We are still shopping, but we are quite happy with the local dealership we visited yesterday. It is Paradise RV in Leduc, AB. (they also have offices in Red Deer and Grande Prairie). We saw the FL and my DH just LOVES it! (My preference is the RE or RL as I really like the side laundry) They are ordering all the units on their lots with disc brakes and G rated tires, "because the Redwood is too heavy for the standard brakes and E rated tires"! We have thought that from the start, and can't figure out why most of the dealerships aren't doing that!

I don't know what they will be like to deal with, but we thought they are starting out right! They are a new dealership for Redwood, got their first unit in just in time for the Feb RV Show! We have also been to Lardners in Saskatoon, SK and Carstairs RV in Carstairs, AB. I know there is also a dealership in Redcliff, AB (Holiday RV) but as they are several hours south of here, we have not been there. Their website prices are the highest of the 4, though.

Does anyone know of any other dealerships in western Canada? (BC, Alberta or Saskatchewan)
Thanks, all

Marian

I do not. The dealerships are few and only about one in each state. Only a few states have more than one. Good luck on your adventure.

If you are looking at a Redwood Dealer in Alberta you can try
http://www.ridersconnection.ca/ and ask for Victor I have been dealing with him and am just about to make an order. Tell him Dan sent you and that I said he will give you a great deal

Hoosierguy - We plan on being in Indiana the middle of September and want to tour the Redwood plant while out there. Then we will be heading south on Oct. 12th to the Covered Bridge Festival. Maybe we can connect with you around then.

Good to hear someone is having sun. Here in the northwest we had 2 to 3 inches of snow dumped on us last night. It sure was pretty waking up to see everything in white, but its MARCH!! Would have loved to have it for Christmas. Enjoy your nice weather!! We're still waiting for the warmth.......
