Ordered a 2013 34 SK today.
I did not order the G 614 Tires. After much tire research I decided the best course for me was to take delivery with the Marathon tire. I will then take those off and replace them with Michlein XPS RIB LT235 85 16E's. Most of the articles I've read and tire guys I've talked to say that this is an excellent 10 ply tire with steel belted sidewalls ( should take care of any worries about sidewall bulging). This tire also runs at 80psi which means it will work with the stock wheels. I plan to sell the Marathon's for $100 ea so my changeover cost will be $700 to $800. Much better choice for me over the $2450 upgrade price for the G614's. Michlein has always been my first choice after OEM's wear out on all my vehicles and I have never had a problem. If I have any problems with this set-up I'll let you know. My projected delivery date is 5/1/12, so I will not be participating in any "Woody" rallies until after that date. For the Western Chapter maybe we should give some thought to a fall "Woody" at Lake Tahoe. Beautiful Lake and great Casinos BTW EXCELLENT TIRE ARTICLE .http://www.thisoldcampsite.com/This_...e_Article.html

I was going to do the same thing with the michelins but after adding up all of the numbers for my FL I decided on the G's I run michelins on everything myself.

I don't know about units rolling off the line today, but units ordered now will be 2013, since I ordered mine with almost all the options including FBP, I was told by the dealer it would be a 2013 and that's what my signed build sheet says.

We ordered on 2-21-12 with all the options including fbp. two weeks after the order we got our delivery date of 4-30-12. if you ordered on 3-24-12 with delivery 5-1-12,they must have have picked up a lot more carriage workers, to get all this unit done faster.

LP, I haven't been given an official delivery date. The salesman told me it would be 6-8 weeks, I just took the 8 week time frame, but based on your delivery dates it looks like 9-10 weeks will be more realistic. I ordered from Zach Shaw, Corey's brother. Thanks again for steering me that way. Saved me big $$.

You know those G tires and wheels are better than a 50% mark up and they have surely have to take off something for the E rated equipment

Yea..I think they should give credit for the tires and wheels that they take off. It's too late for me but maybe others should just stay with the E rated and then buy the G rated tires and wheels on line. That way they could sale the original wheels and tires even at a cut throat price and be money ahead.

I like Redwood but if they want to compete with the higher level of RV's than they have to have all of their basis covered and show folks that they've thought of everything towards safty and class.

Keep in mind that 2450 is about real world pricing, I can buy the G's for 1600 then you have the wheels for around 400 to 500, then you have valve stems and mounting for 100, and lets not forget about shipping if you buy on line plus the headache of the hole process. So for you to do the G's its 2100 to 2200 plus possible shipping, to have the factory do it its even cheaper when you consider the dealer works on percentages , so if you are making a deal and the dealer is working with 40% off the msrp you are paying roughly 1600 for G's from the factory. I hope my math is close.

Your math is right on. When I was dealing for my unit the dealer priced the G's at $950' then called back a little later and said the factory had raised the price and he needed to add another $550 to the previous quote for the upgrade. I did the math and decided to go with the Michleins.

That's overa 50 % increase kinda makes you wonder where it came from dealer or factory and why so much

That is right off the new build/order sheet from the factory. Why so much, it's part of the evolution of a company that builds a better mousetrap. They start out building a better product at a price that makes it a great value. Consumers recognize the value which in turn creates a demand that cannot be met by a new start-up company, soon they are selling everything they can make so the bean counters come in and start tweaking the prices in small ways at first then in larger ways later. The inexorable law of supply and demand. If you've been on the fence about buying a Redwood, better get one soon or you will pay a higher price, IMO.

Right now Redwood is finding their place in the RV world. If they do it right, they can market themselves as a top quality RV that other will be trying to out do. This will take some time for them to prove who and what they are. All of us with the current models are in a way test models. This isn't a bad thing because our resale stays high if they can continue building support for their product line.
