wiper seals

I have a 2017 38rl and I’m attempting to replace the wiper seal on one of my slides. The seal has a bubble seal attached to it and then it wraps around the corner of the frame of the trailer. It appears to have a fairly long piece of rubber that extends between the slide and the frame. I have not been able to pull the seal out from between the slide and the frame. If any of you have tried to replace this seal and ran into the problem that I am having I would appreciate any insight that you might have concerning this issue.

You might want to drop down to the Redwood Care and Feeding forum and do some searching there. There are several threads there that discuss the slide seals and replacement.

I'm not familiar with your model but it seems that Redwood typically used the Double EK D base type seals for the main slides and a single wiper type seal for the bedroom slide since they use a different slide mechanism to move the slide in and out. The Double EK D seals are basically the inner and outer slide seals combined on a rigid plastic channel that snaps over the wall in the slide opening.

Below is a link to the double seal I'm talking about available on Amazon.

These are quite expensive mainly because they are ridged and have to be shipped in a carboard tube to protect them. You can find them at other suppliers cheaper, but the shipping cost is separate and expensive. Amazon just bakes the shipping cost into their pricing.

Below is a link to a thread about replacing these double seals and if you go to my post 2nd from the last, I explain a work around that I did using a much lesser expensive seal to replace just the outer half of the double seal since that is typically what gets damaged from the elements.
