Just started to winterize my 38 BR but when I turn the water pump on to begin drawing the antifreeze up into the unit I had no suction. Fluid would only come up out the bottle about 5 inches and that was it. Any ideas?

You have to turn the valve just at the water pump. I don't know where it is on your coach, but normally it is near the water pump

Yep what Camper said. I did the same thing. No suction, looked by where the water pump was and saw the valve. I turned it off and wha-lah we have suction. I think I going to move mine next year beside the hot water heater so its easier to winterize. The other thing I'm going to do is put in 2 valves and a bypass for the water filter. Might even change it out to one that I can bleed off the pressure to change a filter when I shut off the valves. Makes changing the filter much easier and it don't cause a flood inside the compartment.

Chuck, just did that Water Filter mod to our unit. Got one of the filters with the clear tank so you can see the filter and has the shut off/bleeder valve on top. Plus I remounted ours so can actually get the filter out without fear of ripping the entire filter assembly off the mount.
And Bud, yep there should be a valve between the water pump and the fresh water tank that needs to be closed to put suction to the antifreeze port.

All,

As I noted in my detailed post for our 38 BR, there is a small valve immediately (on the basement floor) below the water filter that needs to be closed for the suction to work.

Has anyone thought about there LCD TV's for winterizing? I mean if the TV is Liquid Crystal it will freeze right? So I brought mine in to keep them from freezing. Anyone else give this a thought? What other electrical equipment are we over looking that could be harmed by the cold? I mean 20 below is tuff on just about anything. You know We were not suppose to be here this winter. But the house hasn't sold yet so we have to hold up here for another winter.

I was terribly concerned about our LCD TVs... so much so that I connected the 36FL to our truck and hauled it to Florida where will be safe from winter's icy blast.
I strongly recommend you all do something similar to protect your TVs.....

btw... I will be staying with the TVs to make sure some shady character doesn't make off with them.

The TVs are left in the trailers on the dealer lot all winter... pretty sure they will be ok.

That's called "Making good use of the wheels" to simplify the winterization process. No need for that Pink stuff. We sitting here in the Infield at Daytona attending "The Rally". On Monday we're move on down the coast to Fort Pierce till spring and that Nasty White stuff up North is long gone.

Congrats on your sale! Ours is still for sale, going on 6 months now. We were hoping that we could be south this winter but its not looking good.

I have a 2012 36fl and went to winterize the unit and also cannot get suction, i have turned off the valve by the water pump and turned the water heater bypass valve from normal to bypass. IfI turn the bypass valve to normal i get suction but i think that is putting it into the hot water heater. Any ideas anyone has would be appreciated.

There is a black cap on end of winterizing hose. There is a valve just before pump to shut off the fresh water tank & open winterizing hose.

I took the cap off and closed the valve by the water pump. If I turn to bypass in the outside compartment to normal instead of bypass it sucks the antifreeze right in but i think it is filling the hotwater heater in the normal position.
