Wifi extender

Good Tuesday morning from Mansfield Tx, was wondering if anyone has a solution for WIFI extenders?
Looking to get better reception from campground wifi?

I would suggest that most RV park wi-fi networks just don't have the bandwidth to provide very good internet access. There are exceptions, of course, but my experience has been that internet surfing is about all most parks will support, I often have to hotspot with my Verizon phone just to surf. As I say, signal strength is not usually the problem, undersized bandwidth is.

We found a data plan from ATT two years ago getting 30gb for the price of 15gb and have been using the hot spot daily. Occasionally we go over the 30gb. I did some reading on wifi boosters and extenders, but didn't find anything that sounded like it was worth the money and better than what I had.

We have Verizon also with 18gb & have had very good service. The plus on getting your own is it's more secure than the parks.

"Secure" is the key word when you are full-timing...banking, shopping, etc.

I use a Cradlepoint MBR1400. It can get the internet from multiple sources and isolates me from the outside world. In addition, I added a wingard antenna mount and replaced the actual antenna with a high gain WiFi antenna. All of this is installed in one of the cabinets above the couch, including the crank handle for the antenna. Also installed an outlet in the cabinet.

Warning: The Cradlepoint's are commercial devices used for such things as ATM's so they can be very frustrating to setup.

At the other end of the trailer I am going to set up another Wingard Antenna that penetrates the closet. This antenna will be for the WiFi booster. Ill run the antenna cable to the front and down into the same cabinet to the booster.

I purchased Amped Wireless Touch-Screen Wi-Fi Range Extender Gray TAP-EX - Best Buy and it works! Without it, at the RV park we are at, I get a very weak signal and a lot of pages timing out. With it, I get fairly nice wifi - it's not perfect but it definitely makes a difference and is worth the $74.

I use this extender on my MacBook and it works pretty good most of the time.

Wifi range extender

¤RadioLabs || WaveRV - Motorhome Wireless System

I have purchased one of these units several year ago and found it to be the best I could find.

I have been using the JEFA for several years now. It is a little "techy" but is configured from a web page, directions were pretty good and I mounted the antenna at the top of my ladder and ran the cable to the basement and secured with velcro. I can pick the best wi-fi signal and connect. JEFA Tech: Long Range WiFi Repeater Kit for RVs
