Well I bit the bullet and traded my 2011 Ram 3500HD SRW in for a 2012 Ram 3500HD dual rear wheel. The SRW did the job of towing my 36RL, but I felt the truck worked too hard to haul the load that was being placed on the drive train/suspension/tires. I had the truck dealer remove my Pullrite Super 5th 20.5k hitch and reinstall into my new truck. My question is to any of you that have a Ram dually: have you found that the slightly taller height of the bed rails due to the dually created any issues for you getting under your Redwood? I have the Trail Air Rota - Flex hitch and dont expect any issues, but I did notice that the top of the tailgate is taller than what my single rear wheel was.

I have a 2008 Dodge 3500 DRW with the trail air rota flex pin box. No issues with towing, hooking up or turning even to a 90 degree angle and we have a sliding hitch (short bed mega cab dodge truck)

Enroute, Have you had the trailer hooked up yet?
I had some clearance problems with my Ram 3500 DRW when I was going to campgrounds in the mountains. I had about 5 inches of clearance from the bed rails to the underside of the trailer which isn't enough... 6+ would be better.
I have the B&W hitch so it may sit a little lower than your's does...
The only way to know is to hook up and measure.
btw... Even with the dually I added AirLift air bags to smooth out the ride... works great and easy to install. I didn't have to raise the truck or remove the tires.. a simple bolt on operation that takes about an hour.

I also use the LoadLifter 5000s by Air Lift. I ordered the through Amazon and run them at 60 psi when I'm towing. When using any air bag suspension remember to support the rear axle if you have to raise the truck off the ground. Otherwise you may tear a bag.

The remote control could be advantageous for people that use the bags to adjust the ride height of the trailer. I use mine to smooth out the ride.
The on-board compressor would be handy though... inflate or deflate at the touch of a button and you know much we guys like buttons.

I went with the 3.73 with the Max tow package on this truck. It is a 3500HD Crew Longhorn 4x4 that has every option on it but the 4.10 rear (I did not want that) and the rear seat dvd player. My previous truck only had the 600 lb ft of torque and it did the job of towing the coach just fine, it was all in the payload that had me a bit concerned. I figured with the new 800 lb ft of torque on the high output Cummins, I would be very happy with how it towed. I also went with the 3.73 as this truck is my daily driver and I was willing to sacrifice a little speed on the towing side in order to gain fuel economy on the empty side.

I just got my hitch installed today so I have not had a chance to hook up yet. Hopefully it wont be a problem, but only one way to find out....
