Tow Vehicle Swaybars

Changed the front bar and added the rear bar. Both are Helwig Industries "Big Wig" swaybars. Amazing difference in the driving and ride. Rig is very stable, even in a crosswind, hardly know the RL is back there. Highly recommend the bars to anyone with a SRW Ford. Front is 1 1/4" rear is 1 5/16" and rear is adjustable for effort.



Between the Airlift 5000 airbag system and the TrailAir Hitch, ride and handlingis really good.

Same here Dave ! And I'll have to make a Cosmo for Ginny. According to Tracy, I make them wonderfully. My choice is either some Jack or Crown and a little bit of something or if it's been a really long day, just some ice and a bit of water ......



Being next to each other we should be able to become good neighbors !

Is it me, or does it seem like the Ford F350 ownersneed to bolt-on alot of equipment to tow adequately. Airbags so they don't squat, sway bars so they don't lean, special suspension items so they don't bounce???



Boy,I'm glad my GMC 3500 dually comes adequately equipped. Just add a hitch, replace the fuel tank with 60gal unit and change the oil once in a while. Tows like a dream.



I'm not retired, so I just don't have the time to own a Ford.

Okay ~ feel I have to address this. First, my F350 is a SRW. My mistake in not buying a Dually, which will be rectified in the near future. Having said that, the truck does not and never did "squat". When the rig is hooked up, everything sits level. The Airbags were added to smooth out the ride and ensure that when at 60mph and you come over a bridge on the interstate and into a sharp dip the rear suspension cannot bottom out. They do that job admirably and were worth every penny for control and peace of mind. They also drastically improve the unloaded ride ~ no more stiff rear end hopping around when empty. Truck rides almost like my last one which was a GMC Denali 1500 Pickup. The swaybars were changed for two reasons - one, because I wanted a more controlled ride (I am and always have been a "car nut", ex Road Racer, Street Rod builder, etc. I have NEVER owned a vehicle that I didn't modify or improve in some way) and handling in curves and Second because the truck IS NOT a Dually, the heavy rear bar stops almost all "uneasiness" in a cross wind. Again, very happy with them and, to me, worth the money.



And, FWIW, I have always been a GM person until this truck. And also, FWIW, I have 2 friends that tow large 5th wheels, one a gooseneck Racecar hauler, the other aToy Hauler with Chevy 3500 DuraMax Dually's and they BOTH run Airbags for the same reasons I put above. The one with the Race trailer also added the Helwig rear bar for extra stability.



And - I'm not retired either, I still work 50-60 hours a week. Bought our RW 36RL in November, put it away for the Winter, started using it 6 weeks ago and so far have put over 800 miles on it on weekend trips.
