I have a 2014 Redwood 31SL that I bought new. It has over 10,000 miles on it. I installed disc brakes on it in 2017. I am still running the original Westlake ST235/85R16 tires on it. Looking for some new tires, I don't quite know if I should run one more year on these or not. What tire out there would be a good fit for my 31SL? Would probably prefer an American made tire. Thanks.

Since your model was the lightest RW is probably how you got away running the WestLakes. I wouldn't push them much more. For the money Sailun tires are hard to beat, but with your weight you probably could use the new Goodyear Endurance tire just don't know how their cost compares to the Sailun. Another would be the Goodyear G614, but they are quite pricey.

I just purchased two Goodyear G614 (LT235/85R16) on Amazon for right at $700.00 total. I had them installed and balanced at a local Goodyear Service center for $73. I rotate two tires at a time from the heavy side of the coach to the light side about every 3 1/2 to 4 years. I run the tires at a pressure of 110 psi. These Goodyear tires have served me well for 9 1/2 years.

The Sailun Tires have a very good reputation and would likely serve you well for your lighter Redwood. They will likely cost about $75 to $100 less than the Goodyear per tire.

Apologies for the post hijack, but first I’ve read about heavy/light side rotation. I assume the heavy side is the street side, eg appliances....

Sailun 637 or goodyear 614 in my eyes are the ONLY 16" load range G tires to buy. In your case I dont see a need to move up to a 17.5" wheel and tire like many of the larger - heavy redwoods have done. Assuming your right around 11000 lbs scaled weight on the axles you will not have a problem with the 16' tires. The closer you get to 13,000lbs you really should look at tire upgrade.

Yes, the heavy side of my Redwood 36RL is the street side or left side. It runs about 1000 lbs. heavier than right side or door side. About 6 years ago, I noticed that those tires were wearing faster. So, I moved those wheels to the right side and put new Goodyear G614 tires on the left side.

I had a 31sl, really loved that unit. I upgraded wheels to 17.5 made for a 7k axel. Then put Firestone 17.5 tires on them. It was to me a perfect setup. The Firestone medium duty all steel truck tires worked perfectly. Heard bad things about Firestone LT tires but the medium duty truck tires were awesome. I have a new Redwood now, so if you need these they are available.

I have 16” 14ply Hercules tires that are almost done 2 years old

Thanks for all the information. I went with the Sailun G load 14 ply tires. They are a heavy tire. Probably 20 lbs. a tire heavier than my Westlake tires.
