Slide Seal Replacement & Maintenance

I have a 2012 38BR that has been stored indoors each Canadian Winter for the past 5 years but has serious UV damage to the kitchen slide top seal. All the other seals seem fine. the top one has completely deteriorated due to UV exposure I assume.

2 Questions:
1. How do I remove this seal? looks like lots of colorful language and a putty knife will be required.
2. How do I treat or protect all the other seals so they don't meet the same fate>
