Slide out level? How to tell?

We've been 'playing' with the 36FB @ home, trying to get comfortable with it and learning about its' functions prior to taking it out on the road.

We have moved it a couple of times, just to get use to 'hitching' and 'unhitching' which allowed us to retract the front and rear jacks and check the fluid level in the hydraulic tank. (This Baby IS FULL) No wonder it leaked all over the batteries!

Another thing we noticed is that when we opened the slides, they don't seem to be very level. Bedroom looks okay, but the "Fridge/Fireplace/TV" slide doesn't feel even from the inside [top to bottom] on either side. Same with the "Dining/Recliner" slide. Can't feel any breeze coming thru, but there sure is a difference in side to side, top to bottom; it seems like it's not fully open.

How do you tell if it is? I don't want to wear out the motor on the slides, when is enough? and do you have a little bit of a slant on your slides?

Thanks for your input!

Shelley

P.S. (K) Ken installed the airbags on the dually yesterday! Boy, was he grumpy last night! Good thing we have a hot-tub!

That gave me a chuckle on the airbags! I spent several days putting them on my old truck and when I found out I had to cut the U-bolts for the older SRW, there were embarrassing words echoing from the garage.

Interesting on the slides - ours has been put away for the winter and I had forgotten that our kitchen slide seems tilted out at the top when extended. The board going down each side is not spaced evenly top to bottom. I was going to have that looked at during the annual, but a few other things got priority and I forgot. I'll watch this thread to see what others have to say.

I have notice this as well, but have not been able to get a good answer on how to get the slide level. I will be following this thread.

Also I have seen several post about the annual inspections, when I call my dealer to schedule I was told that RW was no longer requiring this be done, is this bad info?

I just went through all that annual inspection stuff about 4 weeks ago and I was required to take it to a Crossroads dealer(at my expense) for the inspection. I could not take it to another dealer, it had to be a Redwood or Crossroads dealer. The nearest Crossroads dealer to me is 90 miles away. I think I would want something in writing from Redwood if the inspection is no longer required but I doubt that is the case.

I would double check your source on RW requiring the inspection, as I just had mine last month. I sent RW the report 3 times to make sure they had recorded it and keep the warrantee valid...JMHO

I faxed it to the main # (don't have it with me), then called. The lady I talked to said it would go to another building (where they keep our warrantee files). She asked me to resend, to be safe. I called the next day and she said she had all 3 copies.

I also had my book signed and the dealer said he would file it with Redwood through their computer system. I called the Crossroads/Redwood Customer service and had a tech check to see that it had been filed and he said it was in the computer.
