Terry & Nina,

We find ourslves in midst of the same problem you experienced. While performing, a pre-departure check of our unit before continuing our trip from Colorado to Nashville, I notice the coach sitting at a strange angle. Upon further inspection found one of the Spring shackle bolts totally missing on the door side of our coach. Our unit is a 2014 38FL. I am saddened to hear your experience with Lippert but am glad Redwood did right by you. However, I wonder how often this is happening! I have a mobile service coming out in the morning and only hope it doesn't turn into a major problem. We will keep you posted

JellyStonePark,

I hope you get your problem fixed and have no more issues. I also wonder how often this happens. Redwood did send new springs and u-bolts, along with two new tires, but they sent the 7K springs. We have 8K axle and springs. I have contacted customer support and they seem to be ignoring me. I will keep trying. I have also been talking to Morryde about installing the IS system and then I will be done with Lippert suspension. So bottom line, Redwood stepped up and then messed up.

Terry, if you do the IS you will not regret it. Unquestionably the IS and Disc brake upgrade was the best $$$ we spent on the coach. Overall handling of the rig is incredibly better. And almost nothing moves around inside. We leave the toaster oven and coffee maker on the counter.

If you call MORyde, ask for Gary Wheeler and tell him I sent you. Really great people there

X2 Vaughan's post. Gary is a great Guy and easy to deal with. We did the IS/Disc upgrade on our Montana, ordered our 36RL with Disc and did the IS upgrade the next spring, and had IS installed on this MB before we even took delivery. Until someone builds a better Mouse trap, IS is the only way to go.

I spoke with Redwood customer service this morning and they are sending out the 8k spring set. I told them I planning on traveling to Indiana in January, to have IS installed, but they said piece of mind knowing right spring is installed for a trip that far. Phoenix, AZ to Elkhard, IN.

Awesome! I still need to install my shorter shackles they sent me, but I want to get the bronze bushings before I start.

Just curious why go to IN for this? Unless this is a normal trip for you there are like a dozen Mor-Ryde dealers in Phoenix. I am planning to get mine done in Vegas after I pick it up.

I thought that If you wanted the IS , Indiana was the place to have it done ? There are plenty of service centers around , but they will add the others..SRE 4000 ect...
And they would do work on their products. .

To my knowledge, other than the builders who MORyde authorizes to install the IS, having it done in Elkhart is the only option. Even if there are other places ~ I'd still do the trip to home to have it done. The service crew at MORyde is fantastic.

One thing, plan into the trip to go somewhere about 100 miles or so each way right after the install to check springs. The initial spring choice is an educated guesstimate. We had to swap mine out as they were a bit too stiff after trying them. It's not a big deal to swap them, takes the service people about 2 hours, but you don't want to be 500 miles away and decide they're too stiff or too soft.

They also add the IS in Oregon and California ,(I had no idea) ...here is my email from MorRyde - -

Joseph,

Thanks for your inquiry on our IS system. We have 3 facilities that do the installation including ourselves. The other two are in California and Oregon. We prefer to do the installation here at our location in Elkhart but we understand that is not always possible. I can forward you more information on the suspension if you would like or you can call me direct.

Well ~ I'm corrected. I didn't think they had other facilities. You do still need to have a bunch of trust though when you come back from dinner the first night and the coach is sitting there on jackstands with nothing but bare frame rails .......... LOL

I am with you,,, They PROVED to me back in 2010 that they were top notch , and earned my next trip... I would make the 12 hour ride without thinking about it..
Had out having the IS installed , uncle died while I was there , they kept the guy there till 8pm Monday , and had a guy in at 4AM Tuesday to finish in a day and a half so I could get home.... ALL offered to me , without me asking , or paying extra.. They will get all my business in Indiana

So how much is that IS conversion using existing disk brakes? Do they have shocks?

That's a great question! ! !
back in 2010 , I paid around $3500 for the IS and the 3-3/8 x 12-1/4" brakes with 50mm never lube bearings. . .

I will have to look for my invoice from then to see the break down..

Morryde told me the install for the IS system could be done in Indiana or Oregon. If done in Oregon, we would have to pay shipping from Indiana to Oregon. I don't know how much that would be. I was told if we need the 7K system it would be $3000 parts and labor. If we need the 8K system it is $3500 parts and labor. I also was told they don't know which system is needed until they weigh and measure the fifth wheel. Oregon is closer to Phoenix, but we were opting to go to Indiana.

Prices are just for the IS. We already have disc brakes on our RW.
