Wanted to give everyone a quick update. Jessie from RW called us yesterday. After reviewing the pictures, they decided they should cover the repair for the screws that are coming up. I am going to follow up on Monday to see exactly what is included in the warranty coverage. It feels like real progress that they have agreed the raised screws are a warranty repair. We hope to get more details on Monday.

The job is not done; but we certainly are heading in the right direction with Redwood.

We are feeling encouraged.

Based on our experiences with RW warranty. We are cautiously optimistic. We are going to give them the benefit of the doubt.

For now it certainly seems like they are doing the right thing. We still need to send them more pictures so they can determine exactly what is covered.

More roof issues

My 2015 38RL is having a roof problem also. My tech at tom Johnson RV in Charlotte thinks the rubber was cut short and then stretched to reach the front cap. Now it has let loose and is about 2" from the front cap and the roof vents have 2 " gaps on the rear seams. I have sent RW the info and they are looking in to the problem. I'll give them a chance to resolve the issue before I launch into a tirade, but they had better hurry!
Took delivery in May 0f 2014, so I am about 45 days past the 2 years. Fortunately, my dealer said they repaired the "front cap seal" back in 2015. It turns out they just slopped some compound on the seam, but I would think it was starting to fail then.

I'd have them check it over good because when our front started to separate so did the back. Best of luck and I do hope they cover it for you!

Thanks, John.
They actually seem to know what they are doing at tom Johnson RV which is rare in my experience. They gave me an estimate of over $3,000 to peel back the rubber, clean everything up and re-glue it, but they said that it would just happen again. They suggested a whole new rubber roof that would have a warranty, and it looks like RW is going to pay for it.

You're very fortunate. They would do nothing on ours because they said it was out of warranty.. Very glad yours is being taken care of and I hope you have excellent repair people. Ours had to be redone after it was repaired in Feb.

If you need a new roof , go with RV Amour or the other one & never worry about your roof again, I'll bet the cost wouldn't be much different.

I was hoping someone would recommend a type of roof. I knew several have replaced their roof.

Roof

Danny:
Do you know what brand is on the 2015 RWs?
if RW will pay for another brand I'd like to "upgrade".

There are others on here that have the other roofs , so maybe they'll chime in later, but if it were mine & I could get it fixed under warranty it wouldn't be the original but the upgrade.
