Roof satellite dish

Tons of questions sorry i cannot get my pics to attach
I have a new to me 2013 36RL with dish on roof
I have been on roof and no label or info of any kind
Prior owner ran with Dish network
I use Directv in my home
I have read a little and believe some dishes can run either system but I'm not real sure of this
Did the 2013 model come with a dish from the factory and if so is it Directv capable under any circumstances?
Thanks
Scott

They did not come from the factory with a satellite antenna.
The powered dish may have been an option, but not the domes.

The Winegard dish is either Dish (Model SK-1000) or Direct TV (Model SK-3005 and was superseded by SK-SW3). Usually, the Dish reflector was black and the DTV reflector was grey. If you find you have the Dish unit and want to watch DTV, you have to replace the entire unit. They used to make a conversion kit, but I think they discontinued it.

There's a great website managed by a guy that has great Dish Network TV info. I believe his latest post tells of how to convert a Winegard Travel'r from Dish to Direct and vice versa. He helped me convert ours from working with a Dish Hopper 2 to Hopper 3. Give it a read.

Some of the dome antennas are able to be converted by simply choosing the correct position on the dip switches inside the dome. I would start by removing the cover and looking to find the make and model number. Then I would try to search the internet for an installation and user manual.

I agree with XTASEE. I had a Winegard Carryout that had dip switches. I was able to change the settings when I moved from Dish to Directv. Take off the dome and check.
Good luck!

I have found the registration form for the dish. It's a Winegard RT8000S. It's the stationary white dome version. I will call them and see if its interchangeable to Directv or not.

Scott,
Here's a link to Winegard's brochure for your unit:

Looks like it is Dish and Directv compatible.
Have fun!

I have also found the manual. Prior owner kept immaculate paperwork. This is in fact a dome that has dip switches, according to the manual, so I will crawl my old fat rear up on the roof and follow the dip switch process to change over to Directv. Thanks to all who helped along the way.
