Was there a reason you flew into Knoxville? There 2-3 good airports, around 2 hrs closer to Paducah.

Question about winterizing the residential style fridge with jice maker. Does the fridge need to be operating for 24 hrs in order to get antifreeze to work thru ice Maker?

Bob, on my SOB a couple of hours was enough, but put some paper towel in the bottom of the ice maker to catch any antifreeze.

Wait a minute. Open the outside bottom panel to the fridge. Disconnect the supply line to the selonoid valve. Purge that line of the pink cocktail. Re hook, and stand by with the Scotch.

Residential Fridge-winterizing

You cannot access a residential Samsung fridge from outside panel because everything is inside.

Does the residential fridge have an outside panel? I've never actually seen one. (Residential fridge)

(but maybe we do and I've just don't recall !)
the vent that is, not the dryer

I think they only install the dryer vent if your order the W/D from the factory (which is one reason to do that) because they paint the dryer vent to match the coach. Aftermarket you'll have a chrome one most likely :-)

On the Samsung there is a test switch underneath the icemaker above the ice bin. Winterize the coach first to get the pink stuff to the valve under the sink, make sure water pump is on, push test switch until tray starts to move it will run through a cycle dumping the ice and refilling tray it only took about 3 cycles until I saw pink, then turn off the valve for safety. I was amazed on how easy and fast it was to winterize the complete Redwood even with washer, dishwasher and ice maker.

Hey folks, had the coach at the house for prep prior to a quick trip over the weekend, turned on the frig and received a L1 OP code. Just like Dave's, red light on back panel, called Ocean Grove, high temp sensor board bad, no parts on hand, order from Norcold and fix will take about a week to get parts and install, etc. No problem, I have a big cooler and a debit card to purchase Ice.

Curious what the board costs? It might be something I would consider in spare parts inventory.

It appears Rev E is okay. REV D is where all the problems are. Had Tech out yesterday to check the board and he saw it was Rev E and just used the magnet to reset it.
BTW, he put the magnet right on top of the red light.

Good luck getting someone to sell it to you. I called Norcold and was inquiring about this as well, said I'd pay to have a spare on hand. They wanted nothing to do with that and kept insisting they'll only sell those to qualified dealers who have diagnosed an issue requiring them.

Weird, you'd think I'd just ask them to sell me the recipe for Coca-Cola or something...

Research the issue on Norcold website, and discussed with Ocean Grove RV in St. Augustine, unless you are a qualified dealer, you will not get the part.

Hi,
I am workamping and came back late last night to a partially defrosted Norcold. Left on Wednesday with no issues... making ice the old fashion way like crazy.
No power failure on the rest of the coach (microwave still had correct tine), Mode set to AC, No error codes, just defrosted meat, melted ice cubes, and small baggies of crushed fruit for smoothies bloated like dead fish in the frig compartment!

Turned it off... cleaned out the melted water and other messes, turned it back on in AC mode, set temp to 9 and went to bed. This morning no change!!!
Changed mode to LP and went out to check for blockages... heard LP flame going. Went back in coach and heard frig "running". Left for work and hoping for the best.

Anyone else have this issue with no cold frig without error codes?

Coming to the rally on Sunday... may have to get a mobile tech to look at it quick... I am 5 hours from my dealer so that won't work.

Help???
