Thanks,
When I spoke to Leonard on 8/27/13 I asked how long before I should see it & he said that the parts department is running about 10 days to get items shipped so I should see it soon.

I have the LG system and found that my surround sound audio features were limited when the LG was connected to the TV via the optical cable (factory default). I have a Direct TV DVR which I connected to the LG BlueRay with an HDMI cable. Now the LG comes up with full audio features enabled, which includes the ability to select a variety of audio settings when playing the sound through the LG. I can also now independently adjust the surround sound settings such as front/rear/center/left/right.

How many HDMI plugs on your DVR? My Direct TV reciever only has one. But it is not a DVR.

1 HDMI on Direct TV DVR. The DVR HDMI out goes to the LG HDMI in and the LG HDMI out goes to the TV. Note I had to run a 6 foot HDMI cable from the Direct TV box to the LG Blue Ray.

Fredtp - also note that when you wire your audio as I described above you must always turn on your LG to get video/audio on your TV. I personally prefer this option because the Toshiba TV audio is very limited. You will also need to set your LG input to HDMI.

Sinder, I'm confused. My LG Blu-ray system has 1 optical IN connection and 1 HDMI OUT (to TV) connection. How do you connect the DirecTv DVR to the LG and get video to the TV?.

I'm not using the factory installed optical cable. The LG HDMI "out" goes to the TV HDMI port. Once you wire up using HDMI cables you can go to the LG controller and hit the "Home" button you can then set the speaker levels for the surround sound.

Ok sinder, LG HDMI "out" goes to TV HDMI "in" port and optical cable is not connected. What is the DIrecTV HDMI "out" connected to that allows it to "pass" thru the LG Blu-ray system?

Yes I have an HDMI "in" and "out" ports on the LG Blue Ray. Yours should as well, as this is a common way to connect up a Blue Ray device.

No... Mine has 1 (RCA-type) PORT.IN and USB (iPod/iPhone/iPad) port on the front panel. On the back is only OPTICAL IN, AUX (L/R) input, LAN port, Video out (RCA-type), and 1 HDMI OUT TO TV. I agree, I expected both an HDMI input and an HDMI Output. What model do you have? Mine's BH6720S.

<div style="text-align: left;">You have a 3D enabled Blue Ray. You may need to take advantage of the SPDIF "in" port on the back of your LG Blue Ray. They make an HDMI to SPDIF cable that could possibly be used to go from the Direct TV box to the LG Blue Ray. You will have to read up on the SPDIF port to make sure it will handle both audio and video signals.

Thanks, sinder. Now I have 1 more reason to appreciate the "base" model, e.g. sans 3D. I always wondered what I was supposed to do without a 3D TV connected to the 3D Blu-ray system. Fortunately, this is only my vacation cottage where I continue to remind myself I'm "camping".
