Q: How to remove island panels

so, we have a leak coming from the kitchen faucet. To fix it we need to remove the cabinet panel on the back of the island. Does anybody know how to do this? We don't want to damage them. Hoping there is an easy way to get those off of there. It is impossible to get to the kitchen faucet behind the sink without doing so. Thanks!

I personally would not attempt to take the back off the center island, as it is dado'd, glued and probably finish nailed. Looking at mine I just do not see a good way to pull out these panels without doing damage.

It may be hard, but you are unable to get to the faucet connections from under the sink? They do make a long handle faucet jaw wench which will help you to reach up there and grab the couplers to tighten them. Most h/w stores and big box stores will carry the faucet wrench.

It may be difficult but I would use a mirror and a light to see up there so I Know for sure where the leak is coming from. Is it a hot or cold connection or is it a leak from the trap under the drain. We had a leak there because the trap was not tightened. I would hate to start tearing things apart when it is just a loose connection.

I've replaced my kitchen faucet (reimbursed by RW) & we have the dishwasher, not a lot of room, but can be done without removing the panels.

Thanks everyone for the good advice. I am glad I asked. I THOUGHT those panels looked tricky! Well, we cannot yet determine the exact source of the leak, it from "up in there" where the faucet is mounted. Was hoping we wouldn't have to try and contort ourselves up there to fix it, but looks like we do. We will try and find the right tools. I don't feel like asking the dealer to do it, but if it gets too tricky I will. It's a very SLOW leak (the most damaging kind) and glad I even noticed it. Thanks again.

All the more reason to get some battery operated water leak detectors to strategically place throughout the coach. Better find the leak before it does serious damage.
I also check the area where the filter is located frequently to see if there are any leaks. On my last trip the filter started to leak from the side connections. Luckily I had just purchased a pex tool and spare fittings so I was able to completely remove the filter and reconnect the pex line. Solved the leak and now I can relocate the filter housing for easy filter replacement.
