Old dusty smell...

This I know sounds odd but it's hard to explain a smell to someone .. When entering our Rv to me it's a smell ... We have cleaned both air conditioners ( spraying them off ) and I'm always aware of ceiling duct/vents that are cleaned ALOT thinking that's the problem to no avail ! Is there something we are missing some other source that would hold that type of smell that we need to be taking apart and cleaning ??? Grrrrrrrrrr !!

Could it be from a leak. For instance the ice maker water line in the island?

Is this a mold/mildew smell, or something else? I imagine you may already be familiar with mold/mildew odors so it may be something else. Have you checked the vacuum cleaner bag? I sucked up a small wet Kleenex once and it sat in that bag, along with dog hair and, well, you know the rest of the story.

Areas to check:

- Refrigerator
- Possible leak under rig black/gray lines
- Something in the basement (smell will come up through vents used for heating)
- Check valve under sinks not working properly
- Black tank vent emitting gas (bleach tank if needed)
- Dead rodent in or under rig
- Leak in propane line

Could it be wet carpet, wet plywood in slide corner areas as some have previously mentioned on here? Perhaps AC gaskets on roof. You could pull covers easily and check for duct integrity at same time...
