No Rear Cap

Am I the only one who thinks the flat rear (no cap) fifth wheels the manufacturers are building look cheap!! I'm constantly looking at all fifth wheels hoping that some day I will find my perfect rig with a great price and I have noticed recently that many, and I mean many, have gone to the plain flat rear instead of the cap. I'm sure it is to save money but I think it is just more possible problems with delamination down the road and it looks cheap. Many of these units are not inexpensive but the trend seems to be going that way. Will Redwood be next?

I don't like them either. Hope Redwood will not join the trend. They do look cheaper to me.

I'm thinking that with the popularity of toy-haulers which don't use a rear cap, it makes it more efficient on a manufacturing basis to not use a rear cap on the non-toy haulers.

I agree, I have seen many models going that direction too.

I think you can still get a rear cap on a Montana, but it's either an option or only avail with a special package.
Sure hope that RW doesn't go that route.
