We love our 2013 Redwood 40KB RV. However the AC air flow from the four vents in the bedroom are very low. Has anyone experienced this? We have closed the living area vents, but it did not make any difference.

Do you have 2 a/c units? and if so are you sure they're both on?

Yes we have two and they are both on. There are six total air vents in the bedroom area, the four above the bed are the ones which have very low air flow. The Kyle Texas service department said it was a design problem, however we do not agree.

As many on this forum will say, I've had my trailer all over the country in some very hot weather and I haven't had much of a problem keeping it cool. So I'm not too convinced of a design problem.

I do wash my filters regularly.

Ours has great airflow through out the rest of the trailer. Its just those four vents. We can put the back of our hand to it and you can feel a very low air flow.

The filters are washed regularly as well.

Monty&Sara, as RollsRoyce stated, if you have low air flow it is likely due to the duct work having come off the plenum. To check it your going to need to take down the garage wall near the water heater. There are probably a dozen or so screws. Once the garage wall is off, you'll see where all the ducts connect to the plenum. If any are loose buy some silver metal duct tape and cut it in two inch sections and reconnect the ducts to the plenum. I had to seal ours all the way around the ducts. Made a big difference in the air flow. Good luck.

Thanks Adam. What type of trailer do you have? Is the garage door in lower storage section of the trailer near the hitch?

We have a RL; however, the majority of the system components of these RV's are identical. The garage I as referring to is the large pass through near the convenience center where you hook up the water too and your tank valves. The walls of the garage are carpeted and have screws holding them up. Unscrew the wall and look for a box that all your ducts run from. That is the plenum.

Those screw that hold the walls together are square and I believe they are #2 's

Am I missing something on this thread? I believe Sara & Marty are talking about the lack of air from the air conditioning vents on the ceiling. I may be wrong but I believe you're bringing them down to the heating system beneath the floor.

One problem here, the ducts accessible from the basement are all Heat ducts. The AC ducts run through the rafters in the ceiling.
Pull one of those vents and using a flashlight and mirror check that the AC duct isn't blocked. Some have had problems with these cheap cardboard ducts not keeping their shape and restricting air flow.

Dave and Msh4771, you all are right about that. The plemun is only connected to the heating system. Agreed that they need to check the vents ducts.
