Angry Living room water leak

So, Saturday afternoon we had water leaking from the living room light on the rear. I climbed up on top and checked for the AC condensate being clogged? My evaporator coils were really dirty as well. I cleaned both units and thought that the problem was solved? On Sunday we started getting a lot of rain and now we have leaks from two of the three lights! I am thinking that the leak is coming from the AC/Roof area? HELP PLEASE?????

Have you checked all the Caulking on the entire roof top? A Water Leak can be a real headache, but can come from any place you have a crack in your caulking.

Just a quick thought here, you may have to pull the A/C unit and check the Seal underneath and possibly have it replaced. This is a job for an RV Repair Shop and should not be attempted alone!

Just my 4 cents worth.

Take Care.

Living room water leak

With the torrential rains we have been getting, we have a leak in the living room as well. Pulled the ceiling fan down, that is where we noticed the leak. I’ve caulked everything, checked everything and posted about the mushroom vent cap issues. I think the a/c is maybe leaking and causing the insulation to wick forward to my ceiling fan. Getting a new a/c gasket and hoping for a rain free day to replace it. If this doesn’t fix it, RV Armor is next.

Our 2012 36RL has the Coleman Mach 15's on the roof. They are model 48284B879. Yours might be different. I looked up the Roof gasket for mine and it is 8332-3301. Might need to confirm if yours has the same model a/c.

Thanks Chris, there was a change between 2012 and 2013 it appears. My model is 48004-879 the one with the heat pump. Best I can find so far is that the number you listed appears to fit most of the ducted Coleman Machs.

Our A/C's are not heat pumps. Sure it was an option but we purchased ours when it was 2 years old.
A quick google search found the same gasket is used.

Depends on you the actual serial number but I would guess the 14 x 14 would fit.

Chris, appreciated the info. Got the correct gasket kit. Replacing the gasket was easier than I thought it was going to be. Hardest part was getting all the sealant removed. Hair dryer and scraper. Once the a/c was off, found source of my pitter patter noise, it was a half-assed job by RW at applying duct tape to the ducts and return. About half of the duct tape was flapping in the breeze and not taped up. Removed all the tape, re-did it, applied the new gasket and applied lap sealant. Unfortunately that wasn't the source of my leak. Did remove and reseal all the sealant from the satellite dish, attic fans and vents. We shall see next rain.

Skip, You are welcome. The tape you are referring to is probably the silver/ aluminum tape and not the standard duct tape. Sticks well if the surfaces are clean. Keeping fingers crossed that you solved your leaks.

Check the antenna cable boot on the roof, it's a known source of water leaks.

leak

I maybe in left field but is it possible you are running the AC fans on low speed? These units tend to leak via the lights when you do this. They need to run on high fan speed. Especially with the high humidity we have had this year.

Thanks, I usually run the a/c on auto. Have been since I got the unit. I will give it a try this weekend, any suggestions welcome, nothing else has worked so far. Danny, thanks, the antenna cable boot I keep well gooped, did have a leak there the first year I took it camping.

Skip - have you checked the rubber boot and seal on the cable for the OTA Antenna ? That can leak a surprisingly large amount of water and travel quite a distance.
