Leveling the trailer

Ok we have been trying to figure this one out but no luck yet. We are scratching our heads with this. Trying to keep trailer level. We first had it on gravel and with in a couple of hours noticed rocking back and forth motion. Now we have it on a solid concrete pad and the same thing. If we run the washer and dryer it makes it really unstable but when we check the auto level it says everything is ok each time. Any suggestions on this

Some have identified it as the long overhang at the back...

David and Beth,

These rigs will move when leveled, the movement is mostly swaying and most noticeable in the rear of the coach. This is primarily due to the overhang behind the rear most stabilizers [jacks]. Some ask why the stabilizers are so far forward, just behind the wheels, instead of near the back of the rig... if they were back there they would likely get damaged or torn off when the back of the rig sags going over bumps.

Some have chosen to add manual stabilizers to the rear of the rig [make sure they are mounted flush with the rear square frame], I haven't done anything as the movement doesn't bother me.

I added the BAL stabilizers to the rear. Cost about $150 from Amazon and made a HUGE difference! They really should come like this from the factory.

I'll agree, it doesn't really bother me but I did notice a difference when I was walking into some of the big pusher MH that were solid as a rock. I just hate to add the extra jacks because I didn't like having them on the last SOB. It's a shame Redwood can't just move the jacks back another 2 foot.

In addition to the BAL Leveling jacks I added, I also added wheels to the back of the frame. Came out of a parking lot with a big drop and bent up one of the leveling jack screw drives. If there'd been Level Up jacks back there it would've been a very expensive fix.

For us we feel it in the rear when we are both in the bonus room part of the trailer but no biggie. Were I have a problem us everywhere else. I feel it in the center by the kitchen both slides and even in the bedroom which is really weird. The washer and dryer is absolutely awesome for us but every single time you wash and dry a load it knocks the level off drastically but the unit shows everything is level.

I didn't know it would do that. Do you have to go out and re-level? I have never noticed that happening to ours when we do the wash, but my W/D is in the upper area.

I do get some wiggle in the back. My older JT strongarms and Rotochoks were tighter, but I ain't going back

For a Vacationer, the convenience of the button and the additional beer time far outweighs the hassle of setting up additional equipment, but that could change if we full timed.

Yeah our w/d is side by side and is located next to the bathroom in the bedroom slide After every time we wash clothes the inside of the trailer feels like walking thru a fun house because it is swaying so bad. We go back outside and check the level Everything says it's ok but it's definitely not. So everytime we gave to shut it down pull everything back in and pull up the riggers and say relevel Go drunk a beer till the Tada chimes it's done and repeat everything over again pull out slides let down awnings drink a beer and wait and hour or two and you can feel the leveling weakening just by it sitting

Maybe the WASHER needs leveling ???

I know our HE washer at home can dance across the floor when it goes into the high speed spin if it's not perfectly level....

so maybe the washer is having too much fun!

and you worry about slides in or out for leveling ???
I've never have done that - I just level either when the slides are in OR out.... awning in or out... wife and dog in or out

level is level imho

Yep I already did that twice Now that's what I get when I wash clothes But I still get a lot of rocking back and forth by it self. This is on a solid concrete surface currently and after releveling it give it a couple of hours and it's rocking to the music. The weird thing is you can see it rocking when you are outside watching tv and the other is inside. We are not heavy people We are in our 170's to180's so it's not like we are over rocking this thing

Here's a silly procedure you might want to try. First I take it there's no hydrolic fluid leaking on the floor. Next level the trailer and mark the tanks fluid level. When it starts to go off level and shake check the fluid level in the tank to see if it is bleeding back into the tank.

Yeah I was told that already but that was because it was a little loud but I'm about to check the leak back method and see if that could be it Sounds weird but this trailer is everything but correct

I did the almost the same thing as Foxfire. Also added the cross bar part from Steadyfast. It does help a bunch but not completely. I too wonder why RW can't move the rear jacks back some.
