Issue with Fisher Paykel draining ?

Has anyone had an issue with their Fisher Paykel dishwasher not draining?

Mine started acting up last year, had the appliance company that F/P suggested stop by and look... He determined it was a bad pump motor.. He ordered a new one and installed it after it came in.
We had 2 trips that we used it after that last year, and it was fine.. Now this year it worked the first use, now it's doing the same thing.??

The appliance co. is telling me it is now out of warranty, and I would be responsible for the $95.00 call

Does anyone have a fix that they can share ? I tried to follow the drain hose, but am not a contortionist, and gave up ...

Joe

Joe, pull out the spice rack & the 3 drawers next to it & should able to get to the hose with out bleeding too badly. Now if you have to work under the sink in that little cabinet you'll need to be about 3' tall with 6' long arms that have a couple more joints & a remote eye ball then it's a piece of cake.

Thanks Danny.. I did not realize the drain goes that way.. maybe I can disconnect it there, and blow air into it reverse.?

On our 36RL the drain hose connects to the drain plumbing directly behind the narrow spice drawer between the plate drawer and the dishwasher. It connects to a wye in the vertical plane, but most of the flexible drain hose is stuffed behind the dishwasher itself.

I have never had a problem with my Dishwasher other than it costs a bunch of money every month to maintain!

In fact she is out shopping at this very moment....

Well. . . .

I tore into the DW today.. my vent is clear.. and now the drain is clear. When I took the drawers out, i disconnect the drain tube and blew air in reverse. At first there was no movement, then BAM, i got water on the microwave and stove ! ! What a burst..
All excited, i tried the DW , and still have standing water.. I believe that the pump motor that i got last year may be bad now from pushing water against nothing/?

Anyway, i ordered a motor online and will try it all again Monday.. There really is nothing else it could be except the board ??

I had the same problem, did not drain. I just emptied out all the stuff inside - baskets and the bottom and cleaned it out. I first went to the service place paid $90 and they just told me to clean it a bit better! However - was refunded my money from Crossroads after five reminders.

They said so but hardly used. Have a feeling parts had to be loosened up a bit. Good news nothing broken! Just realized that the entire silver colored bottom of the washer was fastened by the large middle plastic "screw" so when taken off and cleaned worked perfect. We used to be full timers until last spring, and took our 38RL out again two days ago. Same problem. Got code U6. Just took out everything inside, little bit of canola oil and now it works perfect after having standing still for 12 months.

When you say 'motor', are you talking about replacing the rotor assembly at the bottom of the dishwasher? That is usually the problem. Also it could just be the "O" ring on top of the rotor assembly... it gets out of its seat/groove. It stretches sometimes and need to be dried out to seat properly.

Not to get too excited, BUT . . .

I went out and checked, yep no O ring . . Looked in the box that I kept from the service call last AUgust.. Yup ,you guessed it, there was the O ring. . Tore it apart, place the or Ring in . . So far I have 3 rinse cycles and bone dry after each one..

Thanks for the tip, let's hope it was that easy...

Nice! We've replaced our rotor motor once in three years of fulltime use and had to fix the "O" ring a couple of times. It is a common problem with these dishwashers!

It looks like I will shop for spare "O" rings now...

Where does the O ring go? When using ours fulltime for 4 1/2 years & the only problem once when the spray bounced off. Thinking maybe I need to check that o ring.

The spray arm bouncing off would not disrupt the O-ring I don't think. The O-ring is located beneath the shiny large circular filter pan. You have to remove the pan to see the O-ring and it sits directly on top of the rotor housing. Also if you find that the O-ring has become overstretched and will not sit properly in the groove you can dry it out for a day or two and it will shrink enough to fit back into the groove. However it means it's time to order a couple more o rings. They should have made them out of silicone or something. I put mine in the microwave to dry it out faster haha

On a side note, I found replacement OEM "O" rings for $3.13 each right on the Fisher and Paykel website.. I grabbed 2 of them, had to pay shipping, but that's ok, at least I will have them.
