Interior ceiling LED replacement

I have one light over the stairs that has stopped burning. I've unscrewed the glass cover and removed the 3 phillips head screws, but don't see a way to remove the LED bulb. I've pulled down on the fixture and it seems to have springs keeping it snug against the ceiling which makes me cautious about pulling too hard on it. Does anyone know the correct way to replace this LED?

Would need a new fixture, it's $14.00 from Redwood. Reuse the old dome. Just pull it will come out but watch your fingers the springs bite. Lol. The fixture is connected with wire nuts it took longer to type this than to change the fixture once you get the right one. Oh and buy some spares as well..

I find it interesting that you are already burning out your LED lights. That seems really premature for a LED light. I'm a couple of years into our LED lights and have traveled some very rough roads as well, and have not had a light fail.

I agree, we have fulltimed in our 38FL for almost a year now and traveled some pretty rough roads and have not had any problems with the ceiling lights, but it sure would be nice to have a couple of replacement spares of both sizes in our inventory.
Will see if I can purchase a couple of each size at the Rally since we plan on keeping our baby for a few years of fulltiime use.
Oh yea, for everything a fulltimer buys, two have to go !!!

We're in our rig about a year and a half. With a few dozen of these lights having one go out prematurely didn't seem like a need for concern. I've only had one go out but other "may" follow and spares were ordered. It took minutes to swap out and buying them on the road was much more money and didn't match. I don't think its cause for concern but a spare is nice to have.

I have not looked at our I thought you could replace the bulb and did not have to replace the whole unit. I will have to look at one and see.

The 2015 do not have fixtures you can replace the bulb. The whole thing has to go. Unless later models have a change . I see camping world now sells a similar unit. It would be a lot easier if you could replace the bulb in these things.

The early Redwoods did have fixtures with 12 Volt halogen lamps (10 Watt and 20 Watt) that could be removed/replaced. I started replacing mine 2 years ago with LED lamps from M4 Products and haven't had an LED lamp fail yet. Unfortunately, in 2014 model year, Redwood decided they would upgrade to LED fixtures where the lamps can't be removed/replaced. I suppose the thinking was that LED's rarely fail, so, no need to have removeable lamps. WRONG!!! I recommend you find the old style fixture and buy LED lamps for them.

Our 2014 has the same light fixtures that does not have a replaceable bulb.
Maybe it was part of the mid year change on the 2014s

We have a 2014 RW and have already replaced 4 of them. We have replaced the entire fixtures, but Redwood has provided the fixtures with the bulbs--but we had to go through warranty and have it shipped to repair facility (which was a royal pain).

Wonder were the change was? We have a early 14 and has bulbs. I think that I have had 5 of them out to work the connection a little to get them to work again.

I believe our production date was either October or November of 2014 (we have the new style LEDs), we bought off the lot in July of 2014 (got a good deal since the 2015s were already on the lot, dealer was motivated to move the 2014s)

For the fixtures with the halogen lamps, I have found that you can often give the fixture a sharp strike with the back of your hand and cause the lamp filament to vibrate enough to weld itself back together. They will continue to work for several days or even weeks. Eventually, after doing this for several times, the lamp will no longer repair itself and has to be replaced. That is when I started replacing with LED lamps.

Very frustrated!

My 38RL is only 1 yr old however I had a LED 4 1/2" ceiling light went out. I called my dealer to order a replacement for the 4 1/2" and a smaller light on hand in case it blew , I think it is 3 1/2". The dealer was told by the Parts dept at Redwood that they cant get the 3 1/2 anymore, don't stock it and don't know where to get them. They suggested to my dealer that I cut the 3 1/2 hole larger to fit the 4 1/2! hahahaha Could not believe it. I am shocked this is the kind of support we have from Redwood especially from a unit only 1 yr old. I think I have found what I need on Ebay and possibly 1 other location.

Contact Tiara RV Sales. I ordered 5 of each size last month from them. They will require the Vin# of your trailer. They are excellent to deal with. Parts showed up in 4 days. I contacted redwood service and this is who they recommended. mine are still on warrenty but the hassell of a dealer 140 miles away and the time it would have taken to recieve, it was easier to pay for the 12.00 light

I guess you have to call Jim L. because he's the guy that can get things done.
