Indoor stair carpet replace

If there is already a thread on this I apologize, but I couldn't find it. We have a 2016 38GK. I would like to replace the carpet on the stairs with laminate. The carpet is only on the top of the stairs. (See photo )Has anyone done this before?

We replaced all of our carpet with wood laminate
On the stairs once the carpet is removed we had to install a 1/4" filler to make the stair steps level

Most likely a little more work then you would like to do but after seeing what was under the carpet I completely ripped ours out and rebuilt. Very happy with them now.

My carpet is still in place, but after seeing what a couple of you have done I'm thinking taking it off is definitely the way to go. There are a couple other projects that we need to take care of on our lot that are higher priority, but hopefully will get it done before heading north again. Thanks for sharing your photos.

Replacing carpet?

What did you edge your laminate with on the slide out floor when overlapping on the rv floor? I see a black line. Thank you.
