I don't know about some of this Jayco stuff, our Friends had the Pinnacle which I thought was the top of the line Jayco and it had cheap Chinese 16 inch tires of which they went through all four during our Canadian Maritime caravan, that and all the other problems caused them to upgrade to an RW.

On Edit: Checked the Jayco site and it looks like the new 2016 Designer can get you those upgrades with the right package.

Yep, we had a Pinnacle, good unit at its price point but it is not in the same league with a Redwood.
As Jayco says in their advertisements, it is a extended stay unit, not a fulltime unit even though with some upgrades (like better tires and such) we fulltimed in our Pinnacle for a little over 3 years with no real issues or problems.
In reality we had much less problems with our Jayco Pinnacle than we have had with our Redwood (We still had the typical RV type of problems)

At least he learned his lesson, looking to upgrade tires and maybe add IS and Disc Brakes soon.

I think the new Jayco just went through a redesign didn't they? I think that's where the 3 inch walls come from (I think hung walls). If so this could be a whole new ball game.

Nope, Jayco still Vacuum Laminated Walls, the new Designer is the only one with the 3 Inch Walls.
I think the Designer is using Jayco's "Magnum Roof" system which is a wood framed, arched roof.
The Pinnacle 5th Wheels moved to the 102" Wide body a little over a year ago during their last floorplan change.
