How to remove a Ariston washer from a 36 RL

Wondering if anyone has had to remove their washing machine? If so any tricks? I plan to remove all of the doors but I am perplexed about how to lift and maneuver the washer over the front board and set in the hallway to eventually carry down the stairs.

Thanks for any ideas. I have a repair guy looking at the unit on Friday.

I took mine from the closet to the living room once. All I took off was the bedroom door. Undo the hoses and lifted it out. Just be careful going over the front edge so you don't break it.

Lifting

How did you manage to lift it? Did you tilt it forward and slide it up over the board. I'm struggling to find some leverage points.

I bent down a little bit, got pressure with my knees on the front and grabbed the sides and then stood up with it. I rested it on the board to get a better grip then.

I took the latch off the bottom board on dryer side, removed folding door. Removed the dryer, slide the washer to dryer side, tilted washer so it would sit on the board and slide it onto the floor. Strapped it to a two wheel dolly and down the 3 steps. Then folded up outside steps. With 2 men lowered it to the ground.

Washer & Dryer are gone forever!

Be sure & run it through a drain cycle before lifting as it holds a couple gallons of water.

After you get the unit out here is a suggestion. You should be able to remove the left and right pocket screws that hold the bottom rail to the sides. Just leave these out and I added a 3/4" piece of wood to the bottom rail and put two screws into the floor after it was back in place on the inside.
I used a 6" bit to reach easier since the bottom rail is about 3-1/2".
Or just leave it out if you don't mind not having a bottom rail. Looks fine without it and don't think the washer will ever move.

thanks for the suggestions. I'm just trying to figure out how I can get it out for a service guy to deal with it. Once repaired I plan to place it back in it's place. We love having the washer and dryer. As full timers we both decided that we needed it. We have been doing this now for 2.5 years and couldn't imagine not having the washer dryer.

Homeguy, you are one strong dude. The unit weighs 200 pounds. I'm a rather healthy 63 year old with some degenerative disk issues. Dead weight lifting isn't going to work for me.
