Hot in Texas

First Redwood, the AC does not seem to keep up with the outside heat and it is a mild summer here this year in the high 90's where it is normally above 100. Any suggestions on how to get it more efficient or setting the thermostats to balance out? This is the FL model and the rear room thermostat in located in the middle on the kitchen wall by the bathroom.

First of all, welcome to the RW Forum, lots of great information here and helpful people.
We have a FL too and in the South Florida heat our A/Cs struggle to keep up during the middle of the day with the direct sun on our RW.
The rear bedroom seems to stay the coolest but the front living area gets pretty warm during the middle of the day.
We did put a small fan on top of the TV / Pantry cabinet to help keep the air moving up front, it seems to help some.
I just ordered Slide Toppers which also will help a little with the heat.
I have a infrared thermal scanner and found the hottest part on the inside during the midday sun is the Slide Ceilings, the Slide Toppers will keep the direct sun off the Slide Roofs.
Slide ceilings in any RV are not very thick and do not have much insulation.
As far as the Thermostat location for the rear bedroom A/C unit, I thought it was odd to mount it in the middle on the kitchen pantry wall.

Welcome to the forum.

With the extra 2 slides over the other floorplans the FL models do tend to warm up in the sun. We are in MN with daytime highs about mid 80's. We leave the fwd A/C on continuously, set at 73. It normally kicks in between 09:00 & 10:00 and runs continuously until just after 21:00.

Temperature in the living room stays about 75 and the bedroom 69 to 71 throughout the day. We may also use the kitchen fan to help move the air to equalise the temperature throughout the coach. However, we do prefer it cooler in the bedroom at night, so this works for us.

Only use the rear A/C when the temps hit the 90's. Due to the tendency for the rear of the coach to be cooler we set the rear A/C at 69 or 70, or it doesn't kick in.

A lesson I learned...keep your maxx-air fans off and the vent covers closed, this will help.

We don't have an FL but as you know the raised area over the hitch [our bedroom, your living room] is typically the warmest part of the RV so it's the hardest to keep cool. You would notice it more as you spend your daytime hours there while we tend to stay in the rear of the coach during the day.

Another tip...keep your day shades closed, this will help keep the sun out and will help cool the rig.

Now that we have lived in our RW FL in the Hot Florida Sun for a month now, it will be interesting to see if there is any difference / improvement in the inside temperature after we install the slide toppers in a couple of weeks.

We also keep our night / solid shades pulled down during the hottest parts of the day to help with the sun.

We also keep those pillow things in our fans during the summer.
