GVRW Changing?

Just picked up my RL. The sticker attached says GVRW = 16,500. This is a slight increasefrom the previous published GVRWof 16,000. The only option I can thing ofpossibly affecting GVRW is the G614s/wheel upgrade I added.

BTW, I ordered my unit withgenerator, washer & dryer,dishwasher, disk brakes & Trail-Air hitch (among other options). The shipping weight on my unit was 14,167 based on a sticker nearthe monitor panel. I guess this answers the question of whether they are using the published weight of 12,700 or the actual "as shipped". Obviously, all the optional eqipment brings the weight up quickly.

How's the generator exhaust clearance when you're hooked up to the truck? Ours was only a few inches off the road when we first hooked up at the dealership. They had to shorten the pipe before we left.

When I was at the factory Andy told me that my FL would way in at just over 14000k but he said nothing of a gvwr change.

Don't have the pin weight yet asI've only had it for a day.
The generator exhaust clearance seems fine, butshould shorten the pipe stantions to get it closer to the floor. Doesn't seem like there would be a heat problem so far from the manifold. Maybe I'll do it. Plus, that gen exhaust pipe could use a chrome tip or something.
Boy, between the LP plumbing, electrical, 278lbs, fabricating an exhaust, warranty and integration on the monitor panel, etc... I sure glad I didn't opt to add it myself afterward(no money saving at all).

In my case I have a brand new 5500 watt marquis sitting at the shop that I got just a couple weeks ago that's why I just did the Gen prep it came out much cheaper for me that way.

I was surprised at the weight of the unit it sagged the rear springs pretty good on our truck as it was the first weight I had in it as we picked up both units the same day.

That's part of the reason I have been trying to caution you 250/2500 owners out there. These things will get really heavy quickly. Our pub pin weight on the Montana is 1715 but when on the scales at the fall rally we came in at 2600 and that's without a Genny or Gen Prep option. So my guess if you add the genny to an RW, plus a few other goodies the pin weight will start to climb and overload most 3/4 and some 1 ton SWR TVs. So do yourself and everbody else on the road a favor and get your new setup to the scales and run the numbers to see where you really stand. I bet some of you will be really shocked to know the real gross and pin weight. BTW, I'm not a member of the weight Police, I just think everyone should be within their limits.

I agree with you for their safety and piece of mind they should weigh their rigs so that they know where they stand on axle and gross weight.
