General Dryer Questions

We have the separate washer and dryer in our 2015 38gk. Does it normally take over two hours to dry a load of clothes? Is it because it is 115V instead of 220V? We have never had a washer and dryer in a unit before so I'm just curious if this is "normal" time?

If it's a substantial load, a couple hours is about right. It's surprising how much these things hold & beats the hell out of going to laundrmats.

Yes, your dryer is 110v so it takes longer.

We have a Stackable W/D
Maytag Washer / Sears Kenmore Dryer (120 Volt)
Both of these are Whirlpool products.
Washer takes about 1 hour, dryer takes about 1 hour to about 1 hour and 15 minutes, many times when the washer is done, the dryer is almost done.

We are picking up our new Redwood 38FL this Wednesday, dealer is going to move our W/D from our trade in SOB 5er to our new Redwood.

Ya it can take about 2 hours for a load of towels.

We have whirlpool side by side and mine takes 1 hr on normal wash and 1 hour on dry

My rule of thumb is.....put a load in the morning (and take off) and then by the afternoon the second load goes in. I'm not waiting around. As "Travelin Texans" said these thing do hold more than I thought.

I agree, one thing that does work on this trailer was the W&D.

I love the washer and dryer! I do notice the dryer seems a little 'loud'. The washer is nearly silent. Yes takes a while, I find about 80 minutes. It helps to use the highest spin speed on the washer to get the extra water out.

Yeah I agree on the dryer. A little loud but the buzzer freaked me out when it went off. Such a little dryer but it packs a punch with the buzzer

3pairs of jeans 2 hours everything else twice as long as the house dryer.

I don't think they take all that long... plus, I almost never have much laundry, I do it every other day or so. Frankly, there isn't room in the RW to have a big hamper full of dirty clothes. Keeps the closet clear too to have LESS clothing! We live a minimalist life now and we are LOVING IT. ;-)

Thanks to all for your replies. I have informed the wife about the faster spin speed and that has helped. I figured correctly with the 115VAC just making sure everyone else s is the same.

One thing that happened to us and you will want to check: The dryer vent on the outside of the coach was stuck shut from the paint! Make sure that is clear!!!

We don't have a washer or dryer. Today the wife put the clothes in the park washers. Came back and ate lunch, went and put clothes in dryer, came back, went down about an hour later and brought clothes back Took about two hours to be done for a week. Sometimes it takes longer if the women get to gabbing. Have a freezer in the place where the washer would be, we are usually digging into that every day. This is our preference, but some people like it in there rig, that is there preference.

Geez, we have the combo unit and there is no buzzer at all! You have to listen for the cycle to finish to pull out your clothes before they wrinkle.

If you think about it, the best heat you can get from 110 is that of a hair dryer, so it takes a while.
