Based on our experience with the vinyl graphics on our Landmark (could apply to any brand) we have quickly become a non fan of graphics on an RV. The new 2013 36FB we are planning to purchase Wednesday or Thursday has the black and tan full body paint. Absolutely gorgeous!!!

But, as RVs age and the caulking used to seal exterior joints to prevent leaking dries out, the time comes down the road to either re-caulk or let it leak. So with full body paint what does one do?

We are stationary RVers, meaning we may only move seasonally once a year and approximately 3000 miles per year. So my hopes are we won't be breaking the seal of the caulking due to road vibrations and stressing the joints. Yet I have to ask, how long typically before one has to re-caulk areas that will affect the full body paint and when you do, how is it done without ruining the FBP and showing?

As part of your warranty you have to have your certified Redwood or Crossroads service center inspect your coach within 12 months of your purchase and ever year thereafter. Check your owners manual for the checklist. Additionally, your part of that inspection is to look at all of the seams windows, etc that have sealant (caulk) to make sure it is still viable. A tube or two of clear acrylic caulk is a small price to pay for warranty continuance. If you apply the clear sealant only where needed and sparingly then you will have no issues. We have a 36FL with full body paint and I have had to reapply sealant around one window and some trim. However, we have traveled over 30K miles since taking delivery last week of Feb 2012.

Only when we have to. Normally travel all summer and fall, return to FL in winter, rest up, maintain the house, take short trips and then hit the road again in the spring for a short trip then summer with our grandkids, normally 60 to 70 days of traveling with them and another 40 after we drop them off. Figured my wife and I defended this country for 40 years and now we are going to enjoy seeing it.

Well hey neighbor to COLJDM from Grand Lake RV and Golf Resort in Citra, FL (actually we boarder Orange Lake)!

We are full time here at the resort until we shut our trucking business down and retire this coming...., well yet to be determined. LOL

Thanks to you and yours (and all others here on the forum) for your years of service to our country. We currently have three service (1-Army, 2-Air Force).
