We can feel the heat on the wall behind the front cap and the cedar in closet is hot like there is no Insulation in the wall between the front cap and the closet walls.. Yes ours gets very toasty. I leave the closet doors open.I attribute it to the black paint on the nose.Edited by: atom ant

Our Chihuahua loves to sleep in her kennel in the closet, and she Insists that the doors to her kingdom remain open.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your new rig! Congratulations. I think all the models have had "front end" hot/cold issues. It gets better as you learn more about your units "personality". We love ours also!

I figure once we stuff ours closet full of clothes, linens, and what not it will be well insulated! LOL

At least for hot/cold transfer into the bedroom. Our front faces the west and takes the full brunt of the afternoon sun and heat here in central Florida. Although warm in the closet ( and not unbearably warm I might add) we've not seen it adversely affecting the performance of the two ac units ability to cycle on and off or our ability to maintain a reasonably cool temp throughout our 36FB.
