Fender skirts coming unglued !

Fender skirts under main slide outs coming unglued on 36fb. . Had this problem on old redwood had to replace both fender skits plus
Repaint , what a pain new trailer doing same thing . Anybody. Having same problem help ,!!! Sorry they are the big pieces of metal that they mount to..they are.the whole length of the slideout !!, they are big body panels.

Where are they glued? I thought mine were just screwed on.

I think mine are screwed. While towing it home I saw the fenders moving pretty good so I added more bracing to help with the flapping. Now they stay nice and straight.

Our fender skirt wheel well liners (the small ones over the cut outs) are screwed on, I don't see any glue. Also I get the heebie jeebies every time I wax those long side panel skirts. Both sides move in and out more than I like. When it cools off outside I'm going to fix with brackets like UNDRPSI and others have already mentioned. Plus I might add some non expanding foam where I can reach. Good luck.

At the seam were the floor of the slideout ends. . runs the length of the slideout ? on the outside of the trailer. it is a seam.

Redwood added bracing to the fender skirts last fall when I had my coach in for its annual inspection. I didn't even know that until I was getting the coach ready for our current trip in June. They added 3 inverted "L" brackets on each side of the trailer.

Hope this works. Heres what I did. All part were bought at Home Depot.
Parts- #10 x 3/4� self tapping screws. And 1/8�x 1� x 4’ Aluminum Flat Bar.

Right after I bought my trailer I went to the hardware store and bought a box of stainless steal stove bolts, washers and nuts with nylon bushings. Every time I see a screw come loose I replace it with this set up. That way I only have to replace them one time. I've already replace every screw on the fenders and all of the "L" brackets.

You should also buy a box of the self tapping screws that hold the "L" brackets to the frame. These are the same screws that hold the under belly on too.

The picture of the L bracketthat KWIRE posted is exactly what Redwood added to the skirts on my coach; 3 on each side.

That picture is of the L bracket that was not touching anything allowing the fender to flap. I took it off, added tape to stop any reaction between the 2 dissimilar metals and reattached it and then added a brace to stop the movement of the fender. Works like a charm. Adding these braces didn’t take very long to install. All skirting stays put now.

My current 5er needed extra bracing too...

but I did it with hidden screws down to the bottom of the 'curve' under the skirts...

one of mine actually ripped loose once the vibration loosened it and the wind got under it last summer...

No secret, I'll share it with everyone...

The problem with some hosting sites is they have several levels where they resize the image and you have to locate the actual image. In this case (USE Image Hosting), I copied your link http://www.use.com/Brace_in_front_of...ff7056f5d9c9f9 without the URL= or the braces and opened another tab in the browser. I pasted that in the address bar at the top. Then I clicked on the image and it opened up another tab. Going to that tab, click on the image again and you finally get to an image you can post to the Redwood Web site.

Now depending on which browser you are using you need to get the address of that image.

In FireFox, right click on the image and click on "View Image Info". The address of the image is there in the Location. Copy that and then in your Redwood Editor click on the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the editor window (that the button with the tree). When the Image Properties window appears go to the "Image URL:" field and delete the "http://" that is already there and paste the location of the image there and click OK.

It is almost the same in Internet Explorer, except in the popup window select "Properties" and then copy the URL from the Address field. Then paste it the same in your Redwood Image editor.
