Electrical

Hello, we recently purchased a 2022 4001LK and are having electrical issues. The shore power switch keeps switching off and now will not reset. Anyone know what is causing this?

Are you referring the the Automatic Transfer Switch, that switches between Shore Power and Generator Power?? That's the only switch I know of on Shore Power input.

there are only 3 common problems I can think of.

1. surge suppressor that turn off park power with low voltage detected .

2. 50-amp cord reel that has a bad spot in the reel . most likely not a easy fix.

3. trailer with a generator or generator prep the contactor has a bad connection on utility power side or the contactor has failed. My trailer with prep you can hear a thud about 1/2 second after it gets plugged in . the ATS switch in our trailer was located above the generator Sheetmetal enclosure in the front basement.

Electrical

Our trailer had the same problem. It was a bad electrical cord that plugs into the post

Good suggestions earlier. Also make sure to check the main power wire connections. With the system de energized make sure the lugs that secure the power wire on the the main power socket on the trailer and where the wire goes into the transfer switch are "tight."

I had a similar problem and it turned out one of the lugs in main 50 amp socket on the back of the trailer was not properly torqued. This led to the intermittent power issues you describe.

With all the vibrations in trailers it's not uncommon for the heavy wire connections to vibrate loose.

To remove the rear socket you simply need to remove the silicone on the outside surface and then it unscrews and can be pulled outwards . Loosen the socket screws and you'll see the lugs securing the main power wire. If you see any black where the wire attaches it means the wire was loose and arcing. Loose connections will cause intermittent power supply issues, low voltage, and some times arcing which can be a fire hazard.

Shore power

Check the GFI on the pole. Happened to us last week also, hubby tried to make it way more difficult than it was. After, hearing him make a sailor blush, I went over just to look (not knowing anything about electrical). I hit the GFI reset and tada!!! Lights!!!! He just looked Ike’s at me, I grinned and went to make another drink.
