Electric brakes on a Redwood 36RE

Does anyone know how to adjust electric brakes on a Redwood 36RE? Mine doesn't seem to be braking as they should, the 36RE almost pushes my truck.

You need an integrated brake controller in your truck. If you don't have one, they are available for after market installations. They adjust the amount of current going to your Redwood brakes.

Thanks. Is the integrated brake controller in my truck with a - and + press lever? That is how I have been applying brakes but doesn't seem to make a difference.

Then I would take your truck and Redwood in for service. There appears to something wrong. We set ours at 6.5 to 7 and have had no problems.

From a stop, squeeze your over ride on the brake controller. This should apply brakes on the trailer. Then try to accelerate while holding the brake over ride. If you move you should be dragging the trailer tires.

I believe the electric brakes are self adjusting but not sure as I am running disc.

Bill, again as Johboytoo has asked, what type and year of truck do you have? If you could tell us, I'm sure someone can tell you how to adjust your integrated brake controller. It sounds to me like you just need to adjust the controller.

I have an 2014 F350 SRW and the 31SL has disc brakes should the control panel be set for electric brakes or electric hydrolic on the dash display.

Set it for Electric over Hydraulic.

As stated by my dealer (ford) and in the owners manual.. set the integrated brake controller up or down.. at the rate of 1000-1200 (trailer weight) per setting . Basically I set mine at 10 and leave it... Have done that for our Teton/Carriage/ and our 36FL

We also drive a Ford, I have my controller set at 8 or 8.5. ALWAYS test them as soon as I hookup BEFORE starting out, even before I extend the side mirrors.

We started out @ 6.5 to 7 and all was well....
but now I have it set to 10 and suspecting we have a grease leak on the brakes as it doesn't seem like it's pulling us down as fast as it did...

We also drive a Ford and consistently set the controller at 7 or 7.5. As Chuck mentioned I also always do a brake test with the IBC before departing.
