Cupboard door latches

Some of the latches in our 2015 38GK have broken. They are the Decorite 5838. The spring inside quits working. Has anyone found a good replacement for the door and drawer latches?

Get magnetic cabinet latches and solve the problem once and for all.

Totally agree on the magnetic. I found good strong doubles at Ace hardware that work great.

Are those magnetic latches stronger than the originals?

I believe so, but I did add extra. On the pantry mine had 2 of the cheapo plastic latches & I added 3 of magnetic latches shown, now you have to give it a tug to open.
Same with the trash can drawer, it had 1 plastic in the center & I added magnets to each corner & now almost to stout.

Elliott,

I bought a magnetic latch on Amazon that has a 10 lb pull. I plan to use it on a basement door that occasionally flies open on rough roads.

I notice you can buy the plastic latches in 5 and 10 pound strengths. I wonder what comes on the Redwood? I'll look on Amazon and get soem magnetic latches.

Danny, we put a vertical board, held on my Velcro, behind the frame with chair leg felt pads to protect the door. With 2 latches and no pressure on the door, it seems to hold. We did this after the pantry door was ripped off its hinges on I95 in south Florida. Redwood gave is a new door.

I use the Southco C3-810 available from Amazon. They held the original patent on the 10 Lb. plastic latches but have been imitated by others in the past five years. They are not Cheap as you will pay $5 to $6 dollars each but they last longer than the imitations used by Redwood in the past.
