Cheapheat system

Has anyone added this system to any of the RW units.

I was reading some reviews and I like the idea of being able to use electric vs. propane gas. If you run out of Gas what a nice way to backup your cold night and if you stay in a campground where your electric is included in your lot rent then this is an easy decision on what system to operate.

So if you have a unit and could share here your thoughts as I am thinking very seriously in upgrading my unit with this service.

I've looked at it, but since we spend next to no time in cold weather it would be wasted money spent. We have the fireplace and heat pumps on both ACs, so we're fine for cool nights.
If you spend lots of time in the cold with temps below freezing might pay for it's self over time.

Those do look cool, I've looked at them for years but never tried to get one.

I have a friend that installed it on his Montana and he says it works great. Has been using it for over a year with not issues so far. He installed it himself took about 8 hours for him to complete. I was thinking of adding it to out RW but have not gotten to it yet.

We had the CheapHeat in our 2013 Landmark, it was awesome. That RV was basically the same size as our 39Mb and it heated that entire unit just as good as the propane. I really hated to give it up when we traded. It was added to our Landmark at no cost at the RV show where we bought it. It was suppose to be a $1500 option.

Were you folks using the 110V or 220V version?

Cheapheat now only wants to sell to RV related people. They would not sell to me because I am not a licensed electrician because of the need to tie into the AC electrical system. Plan to try again this summer.

First I had heard of them. We might look at having one of those installed before we head back out full time next August.
